{Weekend Wrap-up // last weekend of June 2025}

Whew, what a weekend! I can’t believe how quickly it flew by, but I’m so thankful for every full moment. Speaking of things flying by...where in the world did June go? Anyhow, here’s a little peek into what we were up to over the last few days…

Friday started off with a bit of a shock. Nate took Mason to get a haircut...he wanted to go shorter, and shorter he got. He completely chopped off his hockey flow! Y’all… I haven’t seen his hair this short in over two years. I was so surprised! Poor guy isn’t loving it, but he still looks so handsome to this mama.

That evening we headed to the mall for a private hockey lesson at the rink. On the way there, we had the sweetest, most tender conversation as a family...one of those heart-level chats that stays with you. We talked about God, Heaven, and what it means to be strong in our faith. We shared about planting seeds for others, even when we may never see the harvest. I live for these deep, meaningful moments with my people... the kind of conversations that nourish the soul and remind me what really matters. I pray Mason tucks those truths away in his heart forever.

It went really well! Afterwards, we grabbed some Taco Bueno and came out to the most glorious sky. I’ll forever be that person who steps outside and immediately looks up. The sky was showing off, and I couldn’t help but whisper, “Thank you, Lord.”

Saturday was for slow mornings and thrifted treasures. Nate and I slept in until about 9 (praise!) before heading out for errands. First stop? Chicken Express for sweet tea, because I’m absolutely obsessed right now. Then we picked up some raw food for Lexi at the pet store. She’s starting a new diet to help with her skin allergies, so I'm praying it helps her feel better.

I made a quick stop at Dollar Tree (where I got a few more things than I went in for, of course). Then it was off to my favorite thrift store, Pennies from Heaven. It never lets me down! This time I found an old Baptist hymnal (be still my heart), a Minecraft Bible for our nephews, and a cute pair of sneakers. Love, love, love that little place. More on this later.  Then Nate stopped to wash my car! It was filthy from our recent Colorado trip.

After a bit of housework, we headed to our nephews’ basketball tournament. Both boys had games at the same time, so the family split up to cover both. Nate and I went to Cooper’s game (he’s 5), and his team played their hearts out...all the way to the ship! We had a little time before the next game, so we snuck in a stop at Chicken Salad Chick. While we were there, Mason called to see if we could pick him up, so we scooped him up and headed back to cheer on the boys. Both teams finished second place and played so well. We were so proud of them!

That evening we grabbed dinner for Mason, then came home and tackled bath time...for all the pets. Yes, even the cats. They were not thrilled, but they definitely needed it. I also checked on my cut-flower garden. I was scared I lost them all when we went to Colorado. Thankfully, it rained a few times while we were gone - so they got some water! Then it was pj’s, winding down, and calling it a night.

Sunday was all about hockey. I had to be at the rink early to help set up a pizza party, collect camp payments, and sell some shirts (booster club life!). Our hockey yoga instructor also asked me to take some photos during their session...so it was a busy but fun day. Mason’s JV team played the other JV team in our organization, and it was a nail-biter! We won 4–3 and it was such a great game to watch. I love how both teams came together at the end to pray and give Thanks to the Lord!! It warms my heart every single time.

After the game, we came home, had a cozy dinner together, and then made one last stop of the weekend…Bahama Bucks! Because ending the weekend with a sweet treat is always a good idea.

Oh, and I put out a little snack for our bunny friend that is living in the bush in front of our house. Mason and I named him Bauer Hubert. He's getting to be not so scared of us.

And that’s a wrap!

How was your weekend, friend? I hope it was full of moments that made you smile and reminders that you’re loved.
