We hadn’t even made it out of Texas yet...
Somewhere between Wichita Falls and Amarillo, as the sun began to set, we were gifted the most breathtaking view. The sky lit up in soft pastels and vibrant oranges, a ribbon of clouds glowing like they were hand-painted by God Himself. I reached for my phone (as I always do), and my heart whispered, “Thank You, Lord.”
Isn’t it just like God to show up in the simple moments?
That sunset felt like a love note from Heaven...a gentle reminder that God goes before us. Before we ever crossed into Colorado. Before we stepped into the mountains or explored the beauty ahead. He met us on a quiet Texas highway with windmills on the horizon and power lines stretching on forever. And in that ordinary stretch of road, He gave us something extraordinary to take with us.
Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
And they really did.
That sunset reminded me of who is in control. Of who paints the skies and orders our steps. It reminded me that even on the long stretches of road that feel in-between or unseen, God is there...showing us beauty, offering peace, and walking right beside us.
As we drove west toward adventure, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace settle into my spirit. Not just because the skies were stunning, but because I knew the same God who crafted them was guiding our journey.
Whether you’re starting something new, waiting in the in-between, or just driving home from work today...look up. The sky might just be telling you something your heart needs to hear.
He’s with you. He’s ahead of you. And His glory? It’s never far away.
