{Carving Pumpkins // Fall Bucketlist Update}

We are having the best October and I am so sad that it's almost over! Last night we checked another item off our Fall Bucketlist...

"We" {as in mostly Daddy} carved a pumpkin last night!! It was a great evening. The weather was cool and perfect, we had Pandora playing through the iPad/speaker and we just enjoyed our time together.

Mason was so excited to carve the pumpkin....but the sweet little guy could not stomach the smell of the inside of the pumpkin. He was gagging! He said, "Daddy can do this part". haha! I mostly took pictures. And Gunner....well he ran around like a wild banshee playing with this soccer ball and anything else he could find.

We went with a pretty standard jack-o-lantern face because we didn't have any stencils to use!

{Pumpkin Patch with Mason's school // painting pumpkins}

This is going to be two posts in one. I'm trying to wrap up all of our Halloween festivities...ya know...before Halloween.

Last Wednesday Mason had a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch with his school. I was able to take the day off and go with him. He was so tickled that I was able to ride on the bus with him.

The pumpkin patch was at a local church not too far from his school. And it was so adorable! They had volunteers from the church there to pull hayrides, tell stories and even a little lesson that included pumpkins! We had such a great time. There were 5 parents from our class alone that were able to attend. I was able to chat and make new friends!! Such a blessing.

Mason came home with me after the patch and we spent the day together. We went to lunch and then back to the house to hang out. We cranked up Pandora {Mercy Me station = amazing!!} and and had the best time doing nothing. We laid on the couch and he watched Netflix on the iPad while I edited pictures. We had great conversations and cuddled so good! Time with my sweet boy that I will cherish always!

I just love that he gets to go on field trips in Pre-K.

...

Last night we painted pumpkins after school. Mason painted the little pumpkin that he got from the field trip and I painted the pumpkin he got at Jellystone. Of course Finn {class pet} helped us! Mason was going to paint his like a Frankenstein, but changed his mind and just wanted to paint it all different colors.  He kept saying 'this is fun' and 'my pumpkin is so awesome'. :) Love it!

I painted mine first with chalkboard paint and had intended on using a chalkboard marker to monogram it. But, the chalk marker had dried out. Bummer. So, I just painted turquoise polka-dots on it. I free-handed it...so it's not perfect...but Mason and I loved the way it turned out.

{Fall Bucketlist update // Pumpkin Patchin'}

If there's one thing I love most about Fall it's visiting the Pumpkin Patch! We've made this a family tradition and we look forward to it each year. Most years we even go more than once. (year1, year2, year3, year3again, year4)

Our first pumpkin patch trip of this season was the weekend we also camped at Jellystone {post here}. We went to Mainstay Farms, which was only 2.5 miles from where we were camping. We visited Mainstay Farms last year around Christmas time when they do Christmas trees {post here} and had a blast. So, we wanted to check it out for the Pumpkin Patch.

It didn't disappoint!

We had so much fun! It was pricey to get in - $14/adults, $11/kids and that didn't include a pumpkin...but they had so much stuff to do. And Mason had fun, so it was worth it. I just wish I would have taken my big camera. These are all iPhone pics. Boo!

When we first got there we attempted a few family pictures by all of the pumpkins...but there were too many shadows and a too-eager-to-play four year old. Not a good combination! ha. So we took off to play. Mason jumped on a huge air pillow (probably half the length of a football field), we played on the jumbo latvian group swings, ziplined, slid down slides, got some yummy rootbeer, took a hay-ride to the three story treehouse, played in the maze, rode huge pedal cars, played in a barn full of hay, and just had the best time!

And for a trip down memory lane....2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 at the Pumpkin Patch...
