{He said what?!}

Things Mason has been saying lately:
{I've been keeping a list and it's time to blog them!}

While getting ready one day –
“I like your shoes Dad”
 “I like your hair Mommy”

Nate was drinking a coke and Mason wanted some. Nate was trying to talk him out of it because it had caffeine –
“But then Daddy will be thirsty if you drink it all” – Nate
“But Mason is thirsty too” – Mase

While at school one day he told a brown eyed teacher –
“You have big blue eyes”
She had to think about it a minute…then remembered she had on blue eyeshadow!

While laying out clothes for school one evening –
“Mase, wanna wear this new baseball shirt you got for your birthday?” – Me
“Travis has that shirt” – Mase
I asked his teacher, and sure enough it was true!

While getting ready for bed one night -
“Mommy I want to watch Inspector Gadget on your Pooter Pooter” – referring to my Kindle Fire.

{Yes, I made him repeat it like 12 times}

Mason has been talking to his Puppy lately like it’s a friend –
“Puppy, you have fun at school today?”
“Puppy, you see the hay over there?

...

I saw him looking/whispering to Puppy in the backseat –
“Mason, what is Puppy doing?? – Me
“Puppy wants to go on the bump bumps” – Mase {speedbumps}

While getting ready for Ty's senior Baccalaureate -

"Daddy's handsome and Mason's handsome too"

"Puppy needs to watch Caillou" - {because he really wanted to}

 One night while laying down to go to bed Daddy gave him kisses -

"More tisses Daddy" - {oh my heart!!}

"Mommy get in my simmin' pool" - Mase
"But I don't have swimming clothes on" - me
"Go put a simmin' diaper on Mommy and get in" - Mase

Last night while laying down he starts playing with my hair -

"I like your hair Mommy, it's SOOO pretty"

........................................................................................................................................

 And a funny...

I was changing his diaper one day {you can imagine what comes next? No?}

"It's standing up Mommy"

oh the joys of having a boy!!!!!!!!!!!

{Mason's 2nd birthday party...a video}

Mason’s 2nd Birthday
On Saturday, May 19th we celebrated Mason’s 2nd birthday. We had a baseball themed party at our house. We cooked out and had lots of family and friends over. It went really well. Except for the fact that I did not get many pictures of the event. I was too busy running around, you know – hosting a party! So, I have made a promise to myself that next year I am going to slow down and take more pictures. More details. And more of Mason with his guests.

I made a short little video of the party.

{Mason spelling his name}

A few weeks ago Mason learned to spell his name.
And? I caught it on video :)

{Mason's favorite shows}

Mason has never been into TV much.
However lately he will watch a few different shows.
And by "watch" I mean while playing with tractors or monster trucks.

His favorites right now are:

Barney
Yo Gabba Gabba {this show is so strange to me}
Caillou
Inspector Gadget
Backyardigans

And I will admit...an episode {or two} has allowed me to cook dinner!

Oh and Thank God for DVR...for a toddler that doesn't understand when "Barney" isn't on right at the moment he needs it to be. :)

{Funny Story/Mason's Antics}

Okay, so this may only be funny to me....

The other day we were playing outside and Mason would get on the ledge of the flowerbed, act like he's falling off and he'd say,

"It hurts him" over and over.
So finally I said, "Hurt Who?"
To which he replied "Him" {duh Mom}
I said, "Who's Him"
And he says, "Mason Hall hurts him" and points at himself

Oh how I love this silly boy!

{That's what I love about Saturdays}

Okay - I know the song is about "Sundays" but our Saturdays are just as great!
We love to go to places like Gander Mountain, Bass Pro Shop, or Cabelas.
Mason calls them the deer store.
And that? Is where he is totally in his element!

These pictures were from one of our excursions to Cabelas...he just looked so cute and big!

{Today my baby boy turns TWO!!}

I just can’t believe it! My baby boy is TWO today. We are off to the Zoo! We’ve been talking about it all week and Mason gets so excited every single time. I will be sure to come back with lots of pictures and videos.

My sweet Mason Lane,

Today marks two whole years ago that I was meeting your sweet face for the first time. My first time to hold you and feel you from the outside and to tell you in person just how much Mommy loves you! Baby boy, you took my breath away. You were the most beautiful baby I had ever laid my eyes on. One look in your eyes and I knew that you were destined for great things. You’re gonna change the world one day, I just know it.

It’s so true what they say – the days are long, but the years are short. Here we are, two years later and I just can’t believe it. I have a two year old. Just doesn’t seem possible.
In these two years you have brought me blessing after blessing. Just being around you fills my hearts with so much joy it could bust. You have taught me how to love unconditionally {even though I thought we already knew}, how to have patience, and how to see people through a child’s eyes. You’ve done amazing things to me, sweet boy. You’ve changed me forever. And for that I am forever thankful.

Mason, you are so funny and have a heart the size of Texas. I never thought I’d have a two year old that already has better manners that some adults. You say please, thank you, you’re welcome, excuse me, ma’am and sir all on your own. My absolute favorite though, is when you plant a giant hug or kiss on me and say I Love You. There is nothing better than that. You’re so full of life and happiness that it radiates and is contagious. You make me want to be a better person.

You love to make people laugh and do the silliest things sometimes. Just when we think you can’t get any sweeter or cuter – BAM! You do.

You are also very opinionated and stubborn. You can throw a fit with the best of em’!! Sometimes you make us want to pull our hair out…but thankfully those moments are getting to be few and far between.

You’re a very curious little toddler and your little brain is like a sponge. We can tell you something one time and you remember it. You will surprise us days later by showing us that you soaked it all in. I love watching you grow and learn new things. You amaze me, to say the least.

Mason, you are Mommy’s best friend. And you are definitely my favorite. And I love you to the moon and back. I tell you these three things daily because I never want you to forget. The minute I drop you off at school, or seconds after you fall asleep I miss you. If I could spend every second of every day with you I would do it in a heartbeat. There is nowhere else I’d rather be than in the presence of your adorable little self.

Okay – two is big enough! Please stay little forever.

I love you Sweet Boy,
Mommy

{On switching classes}

On switching classes

I have been majorly stressing out lately. Mason turns two tomorrow and with that comes the two year old class. He was supposed to move up on May 1st, but they had a teacher quit without notice and were short on teachers. Thus, pushing the student/teacher ratio over (if Mason were to move) in the two’s class. So, he has been in his normal class all month. I’ve been fine with that. In fact, I’ve been really happy with it.

You see, we are spoiled right now. Mason has the most wonderful teacher and she loves him so much. Mason is very, very attached to her.  Every day when I pick him up she and him are interacting in some sort of way. You can see the joy in his heart when he’s around her. And that makes it a little easier for a Mama that wants to break down in tears every morning when I leave him at school. I am not fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom, so of course I want him to be happy where he is when he’s away from me.

 But it’s inevitable that he has to move when he turns two. And that? Makes me want to cry. There has been a lot of change in the two’s class and I’m just not ready for change upon change upon change. The teacher I know and love keeps getting her schedule changed and they are trying to find a permanent afternoon teacher. I know they say kids are resilient and adapt quickly…but still. This is my baby. My world.

I know that I should worry less and pray more. And that’s what I intend to do from here on out.

You will go out in joy and be lead forth in peace...

Isaiah 55:12

I know he will be fine. I know that he will be taken care of. I know that he will have fun and learn lots of new things. And I know it will be harder on me than it is on him.

{My love/hate relationship with bath time}

Bath time...oh Bath time!
I have a serious love/hate relationship with bath time.
I love it because it's such a fun time for my sweet boy. We have such great conversations. And, well, I just can't get enough of the smiles and giggles that accompany...
but I hate it because once he gets in he never wants to get out.
I'm running out of antics to get him out!
It's a good thing he's cute :)

{Embrace the Camera...Family Pictures}

This weekend we snapped a few family pictures this past weekend.
And? I kind of love them.
It's not often that us three can get in a picture together.
And it's it's even more uncommon to get Mason to slow down for a picture.

Hubbs and I also snuck in a few pictures!
I'm one lucky gal :)
