Friday Favorites | A Simple Photo, A Powerful Verse, and a Song on Repeat
Happy Friday, friends! Welcome back to another edition of Friday Favorites here on Hall Around Texas. I love taking a little time at the end of the week to reflect on the things that made my heart feel full...whether it's a verse that spoke to me, a simple moment that brought joy, or something new I'm loving.
Here’s what’s on my heart this week:
This verse has been gently but firmly pressing on my heart this week. “Be still…”—how often do we need that reminder in a world that constantly demands hustle, noise, and control? Sometimes, trusting God isn’t about doing more. Sometimes it’s about releasing our grip and simply being still, knowing He’s already at work in ways we can’t see. What a beautiful kind of surrender that is. I've been clinging to this verse as I navigated a health journey these last few months.
This photo might not look like much to anyone else...it’s not of a scenic view or a grand moment...but it makes me smile every time I look at it. Why?

It shows off my thrifted pants and shoes, two of my favorite recent finds. Y’all know I love a good deal and finding joy in the little things!

I had just left the ophthalmologist with great news (praise God for answered prayers!), and I got to spend some unexpected extra time with my boys. It was one of those “thank You, Lord” kind of afternoons.
Sometimes, the photos that mean the most are the quiet ones that hold more than meets the eye.
A huge shoutout to Nate’s parents for stepping in and taking Mase to the rink that morning...they’re such a blessing to us. And thanks to modern technology, I was able to tune in and watch from home.
He’s made the sweetest friendships through hockey, and I just love seeing them all out there doing what they love...even when allergies are kicking his booty this week. He still had a blast, and that makes my mama heart so happy.
It’s been rainy and a little gloomy around here this week, so I wasn’t expecting much in the way of pretty skies. But one evening, on my way back home from my walk, I looked up and was met with this view...my favorite sunset of the week. The colors, the calm, the quiet… it just stopped me in my tracks.
I’ve always felt sunsets deep in my soul. There’s something about them that feels like a personal reminder from the Lord...a whisper saying, “I’m here, I’m with you, and I make all things beautiful in time.”
What a beautiful gift from our good, good Father.
What have been some of your favorite moments, verses, or songs this week? I’d love to hear.
Wishing you a restful weekend full of little joys and big reminders of God’s faithfulness.
With love,
Crystal
