{Friday Favorites // 5 Things I love about Summer}

Summer has officially rolled into Texas, and y’all… my heart is so here for it. There’s something about this season that just slows everything down in the best way. It invites us to live a little lighter, laugh a little longer, and hold tight to the people and places we love most.

For this week’s Friday Favorites, I’m sharing five things that make summer feel extra special to me:

1. Road Trips
Give me an open road, a good playlist, a few Buc-ee’s snacks, and I’m in my happy place. Whether we’re chasing small-town charm on a weekend getaway, heading to Colorado for a mountain escape, or crossing spots off our Texas Bucket List, road trips are our favorite way to make memories. The real magic? It’s in the conversations, the spontaneous stops, and the way the car always feels like a little bubble of togetherness.

2. Sunsets
There’s just something sacred about a Texas sunset. The way the sky melts into shades of gold and pink...it gets me every time. Whether we’re watching it from our driveway after a long day or pulled over on a country road to take it all in, sunsets are my daily reminder to slow down and say, “Thank You, Lord.”

3. Fireflies
There’s a childlike wonder that comes with seeing those tiny lights dance in the dark. Mason and I love spotting them during our summer nights outside. They feel like little winks from God, don’t they? Simple, sweet, and full of nostalgia. Sometimes we’ll just sit still and watch them flicker across the yard...no phones, no rush, just being.

4. Toes in the Sand
Beach days are rare but so cherished. I’ll take any excuse to dig my toes in the warm sand, breathe in the salty air, and let the waves reset my soul. Whether it’s a full beach trip or a lake day close to home, there’s something about the water that washes away the stress and fills me with peace.

5. Sweet Tea in a Mason Jar
It’s not summer in Texas without a cold glass of sweet tea. Bonus points if it’s in a Mason jar and you’re sipping it on the porch while the cicadas sing. It’s one of those simple pleasures that just feels like home. Every sip is a little reminder to savor the slow moments.

Summer isn’t about having a perfectly packed schedule...it’s about having hearts full of gratitude, hands full of memories, and enough space to just be. These little joys remind me what really matters.
