{GAYLORD ICE // POLAR EXPRESS // GRAPEVINE // BASS PRO // 2022}

For the last several years, I have taken off on a Friday in December so that we could go to the Gaylord Ice exhibit and tool around Grapevine. I know I say this about all of our Christmas traditions, but this is one of my favorites. This year's ICE theme was the Polar Express. Nate and I agreed that it was one of the best ones yet!

We got to the Gaylord with only about 5 minutes to spare, so we went straight to ICE. We always forget how cold it is in there (NINE degrees) and forgot to bring beanies and gloves. Next year, we will not make that mistake.

We were in awe from the moment we walked in. The Polar Express ICE exhibit was so wonderfully done!!

The Nativity at the end is always my favorite! It's so beautiful and so moving.

After the ICE exhibit, we headed to the ice skating rink! It was Mason's first time to ever ice skate. He did so well and had so much fun.

After ice skating, we went to look around the hotel and take some photos. It's always decorated so pretty at Christmas time. Normally, we come to the Gaylord later in the day and get to see it all lit up for Christmas. However this time, we had to come earlier due to a friend's Christmas gathering that evening!

I know this post is already forever long, but after we looked around Gaylord we went for lunch and then drove through the downtown area. Grapevine is known as the Christmas capital of Texas! They always go all out with their decorations and festivities. It's much cooler at night, but still pretty during the day.

Next, we went to Bass Pro Shop to look around. The entrance of Bass Pro is my absolute favorite. How warm and cozy is this space? Makes me long for a cabin in the mountains!! And that Christmas tree...so gorgeous!

Every time we visit this Bass Pro we get a photo of Mason with the shark. He used to fit in the mouth of the shark!! Tears!

We had such a beautiful day together! I love these sweet boys of mine something fierce and love making all these memories and traditions with them.
