{Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T. // 2nd Edition}

Happy Friday! I'm so delighted to share a 2nd edition of a new little series here on the blog that I’m calling weekly R.E.P.O.R.T. — a weekly roundup of different topics. This will change with the times and seasons. 


This week I am sharing what I’m Reading, Experiencing, Planning, Overcoming, Recording, and Treasuring. Think of it as a peek into my heart and home, kind of like sitting on the front porch with a glass of sweet tea and catching up. Let’s jump in…




R = Reading

I just finished The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore. Big Dream Harbor fan over here!! This book popped up in an ad on Instagram, and since it was free on Kindle Unlimited, I downloaded it right away. Apparently, this one is viral on TikTok? I didn’t think the 2nd book (The Cinnamon Bun Book Store) was available on Kindle yet, so I started The Bakery on Main Street by June Woods. But good news...I just downloaded the 2nd Dream Harbor book, so it’s ready and waiting on my Kindle!

And as always, I read my Bible daily. Right now, I’m working through two plans in the She Reads Truth app...People in the New Testament and Names of God. Both have been so rich and encouraging.


E = Experiencing


I thought now would be a good time to catch you up on my health journey. I recently shared that I haven’t been having migraines, and I’m so grateful for that. However, I’m still experiencing the tinnitus (and it has been SO loud this week), dizziness when I lie down at night (feels like I’m fighting waves), and lots of head pressure. I went a glorious 5–7 days with minimal pressure, but now it’s back and intense. It feels like my ears are full, with pressure creeping into my temples, neck, and throat. Definitely not pleasant.


P = Planning

Friday, I'm working. I think my boys are going to look at a car for Mason. What?? How did we get here so fast? Saturday we are planning on going to the zoo with our friend group for a sweet 3-year old's birthday. I cannot wait to see our dear friends and spend the day with them. Sunday is church! 

In November, we are planning a trip to Tennessee.

I think that's all the plans we have as of right now. 

O = Overcoming

Right now, I’m working to overcome a huge lack of motivation I’ve been feeling this week. I’ve had no desire to get ready, leave the house, go on walks, exercise, tackle laundry… you name it. I know it’s tied to this tinnitus and head pressure, and I’m trying to give myself grace, but I really don’t like being in a funk. So, I’m pushing through and reminding myself that small steps forward still count.

R = Recording

I decided to start a gratitude journal/blog post for the month of August. I’ll share it once the month wraps up. It’s been such a good practice for my heart...taking intentional time each day to record what I’m thankful for.

T = Treasuring

Mason has been getting back on a better schedule lately, and I am treasuring these days spent with him. He’s going to bed earlier and waking up earlier! Before, it wasn’t unusual to not see his face before noon (he’s always been a sleeper!). But this past week, he’s been up in the mornings, and it’s been so sweet to make him breakfast and have those quiet, quality moments together. I’m soaking it all in.

I love having this little space each week to reflect, share, and remember the small and big moments that are making up our days. Life doesn’t slow down, so it’s good to pause and take note of what’s been filling my mind, heart, and time.
