Happy Friday! I'm so excited to kick off a new little series here on the blog that I’m calling R.E.P.O.R.T. — a weekly roundup of different topics. This will change with the times and seasons. This week I am sharing what I’m Reading, Embracing, Praying, Organizing, Recommending, and Tackling. Think of it as a peek into my heart and home, kind of like sitting on the front porch with a glass of sweet tea and catching up. Let’s jump in…
R = Reading
I’m currently toggling between two very different but equally enjoyable books.
My paperback pick is The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager...a gripping thriller that keeps me on my toes. Suspense and twists? Yes please.
On my Kindle, I’m cozying up with The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore. It’s giving all the small-town, early fall vibes I adore. Sweet, comforting, and the perfect wind-down read before bed.
E = Embracing
I have a neurology appointment today, and it’s made me reflect on how much I’ve embraced this new season of health and healing. Since starting my new migraine preventative back in May, I haven’t had a single migraine. Not one.
If you know me, you know how huge that is...I used to battle 3–5 migraines a week. That kind of pain takes over your life. But now? I feel free. I feel me again. Praise God for answered prayers and for the doctors who helped get me here. I’m embracing this version of life with such joy and gratitude.
P = Praying
In a word? Incessantly.
Lately, prayer has been the soundtrack to my day. From the moment I open my eyes to when I lay my head down at night, I find myself in constant conversation with Jesus.
It’s not always structured or fancy. It’s just real, raw, and constant. Whether I’m walking out to get the mail or driving across town, I’m lifting things up to Him...thanking Him, asking, praising, sometimes just sitting in silence with Him.
I saw a video recently where a girl shared that her friend’s theology professor encouraged them to pray every time they walk through a doorway... using that as a reminder to thank God. That image has stayed with me. What a sweet invitation to talk to our Creator, and how beautiful is it that the King of the Universe wants to hear from us? He wants to be in relationship with us. I'll never get over this or fully understand this. What a gift it is.
O = Organizing
This weekend’s project? My closet.
It’s time. I’ve been putting this one off, but I’m actually excited to dig in and see what treasures I might uncover. I’ve thrifted a few "maybe one day" pieces that didn’t fit at the time...but since I’ve lost a bit of weight, I’m hopeful that some of those finds will finally get their moment!
Closet shopping might just be the most satisfying kind of shopping.
R = Recommending
This week, I have to share a song that’s been wrecking me (in the best way):
“What a God” by SEU Worship
These lyrics…
If the highest place I reach is at Your feet
Then I've done it all
If the best thing that I've seen is Your glory
Then I've seen it all
Your love has changed my life, forever satisfied
God, You are my everything
This song brings tears every time. It's a full-body reminder of how deeply loved and seen we are. Add it to your worship playlist immediately.
T = Tackling
We have a very glamorous weekend project on the docket: installing our new dishwasher.
It’s currently sitting out in the shop, just waiting for its moment. The one in our kitchen is original to the house (circa 2007!) and... she’s on her last leg.
With me getting off early today for my neuro appointment, I’m hoping we can knock that out and maybe even cross a few more small home projects off our list. Here’s to productivity, power tools, and a kitchen that sparkles!
That’s a wrap on this week’s R.E.P.O.R.T. I’m loving this rhythm of reflecting and sharing, and I hope it inspires you to pause and take stock of your own week too...the little victories, the big feelings, the everyday grace.
Thanks for being here. See you next week for another round.
