{Wednesday Hodgepodge // Midweek Musings}

Time for another round of Wednesday Hodgepodge! I always love linking up for these posts because the questions are so fun and random… and you just never know what direction they’ll take you. I feel like I don't have much to offer this week, but let’s dive right in anyway!

1. When someone finds out what you do or where you're from, what's a question they always ask?

When it comes to my profession, it’s always something along the lines of, “Wait… you sell my address?”  I work in marketing and advertising, and yes, part of that includes renting mailing lists for targeted purposes. People are always a little shocked when they hear that, but it’s just part of the industry!

As for where I live, oh goodness… growing up in Texas, especially when we would meet people from out of state at cheer camp, I can’t tell you how many times I got asked, “Do you ride a horse everywhere?” I promise we drive cars just like everyone else. Another big one was, “Can you just say y’all for me?” They always wanted to hear our accents. And of course, the classic: “Is it true everything’s bigger in Texas?” Spoiler alert: yes, yes it is.

2. Did you participate in 'Greek Life' when you were in college, or have children who did? Have you ever been to Greece?

Nope, I did not participate in Greek Life. I went to a junior college for my first two years and that wasn’t even an option there. I do, however, have several friends whose kids just headed off to college and experienced their very first rush week. It has been so fascinating to watch from the outside...these sorority events are extravagant, to say the least!

As for Greece itself… I’ve never been. Honestly, it’s not one of those places that immediately pops into my mind when I think of dream destinations. But after seeing so many gorgeous pictures of the islands and that beautiful blue water, maybe it should be on my bucket list after all.

3. Do you like Greek food? If so, what’s your favorite dish?

Okay, confession time...what even is Greek food??? I kid, kind of.  I’ve mentioned here before that I am just not adventurous when it comes to trying new foods. I tend to stick with what I know and love. So no, Greek food has never really been on my radar.  I'm off to Google Greek food...

4. What incredibly common thing have you never done?

Eat Greek food? Dream about going to Greece? lol! I don't know...the first thing that came to mind is Star Wars. I’ve never seen a single Star Wars movie. Not one! I know that’s almost unheard of, but I’ve just never had the desire. I feel like people either love it and are completely invested in the whole series… or they’re like me and just never caught the bug.

5. What is a telltale sign that you’re upset?

If you see me cleaning like a mad woman, chances are I’m upset or anxious about something. I don’t know why that’s always been my default, but it is. There’s just something about scrubbing, organizing, and getting the house in order that helps me work through whatever I’m feeling. It’s like therapy...only with a broom in my hand.

6. Random thought:

I am so boring this week! :) Or maybe I am always boring.
