{Our weekend trip to Wimberley, TX}

Back at the end of June Nate's parents so graciously rented an amazing river house in Wimberley, TX for us all to enjoy. The whole Hall clan was able to go and it was a such a great time! When we are all together there are 10 of us now. I love our little growing family something fierce. We had a new addition to the family back in December, so it was so wonderful having a little babe around to love on any time we wanted. Wimberley, TX is such an adorable little town and stole a piece of our hearts.

Nathan and I only worked a half day on that Thursday so that we could get a jump on traffic and get down to the river earlier in the day! It was just a long weekend trip and we wanted to make the most of it. We pulled up to our river house around 4:30 pm and couldn't believe how beautiful the house was.

Mason was most excited about the spiral staircase that went from the bottom porch to the top deck and the hot-tub. He's my little fish and loves water. He didn't waste any time before he was changed into his swim trunks and ready to play in the hot tub. The house was across the street from the river, but we had a private access to the river. Nate walked down to do some fishing and I went to snap a few pictures. It was so pretty down there!

That evening we went to dinner at a Mexican food place in town. The food was great, but the ac was barely working! Bummer! The rest of our crew got in later that evening. We visited with the baby and then called it a night.

The next day we all decided to go into town to hit the little shops. Our thinking was that a Friday afternoon may not be as crowded as a Saturday. And, we were pretty spot on. Mason stayed behind at the river house to hot tub it up with his Papa. So, it was a bit of a day date for Nate and I. The shops in Wimberly are too cute!

After a bit of shopping we came back to the river house to chill for a bit. Then Nathan, his brother and his wife and I decided to go try to find a scenic byway that wasn't too far from our house. It was a complete bust. I can see at some point that it probably was a nice scenic view, but everything has grown up and there wasn't much of a view left. While we were out we decided to go check out a swimming hole called the Blue Hole. You can only swim by reservations, but the front desk so kindly gave us 20-30 minutes to go check it out. It really was a neat swimming area, but there was a plethora of people. We'll have to get reservations next time we are in the area.

After checking out the swimming hole we tried to do a bit more shopping in the downtown area. That was a bust too because apparently, the town closes down at 5 pm. Bummer! There were just a couple of shops open, but we had a good time.

While we were gone Mason enjoyed a river float with his uncle and Aunt!

We ran by the grocery store and grabbed some dinner to grill that evening. We cooked out and just enjoyed the time at the river house.

Saturday everyone by Nana, Papa and the baby loaded up and went to Gruene, TX. If you've been around my blog for any amount of time you know that Gruene is one of my favorite places on earth! We have been going there for years and enjoy it more each time. We normally make it an adults weekend because we tube the river and catch some concerts at Gruene Hall. With that being said, this was our first time to introduce Mason to a town we so dearly love. We visited Gruene Hall, a few other shops and the general store and called it good! It was hot and crowded and we showed Mason some of our favorite spots. We left and went to get a snowcone, then back the river house.

We came back and got in the river for a bit! The water was so clear and we had an amazing time cooling off. Minus the little fish that would agressively nip us every so often! haha.

Sunday was pack up and go home day. Womp. Womp. But, not before we got a family picture on the steps of our river house!

We loved this little town and can't wait to go back!!
