{First Day of Third Grade}

Third grade.
THIRD.
Like how?

I keep repeating this over and over in my head. How is my sweet little baby already in the third grade? This is his last year at this campus and the year the Staar testing begins. He's the big man on campus now. This morning he asked us"do I look as tall as a third grader?" You don't even know, son. Why do you think your mama wore tall wedges today? Oh, how bittersweet it is.

I shared all of our back to school traditions here, so I won't go over those again. But, we checked them off one by one and this morning went off without a hitch. Mason woke up so easy and got ready without any holdbacks. Well, except for eating his breakfast entirely too slow. He said he was nervous and had butterflies. Oh, my sweet boy!

His Nana was so sweet to leave balloons and a little gift on the porch. She always makes the first day so special for Mason. This year he got custom cupcakes, balloons, and a cake pop.

He finished up breakfast, brushed his teeth and got ready with just enough time for me to take a cagillion first day of school photos. He was so cooperative, too! I'm so happy I got a silly picture because that totally shows his personality!

We got to the school and it made my heart so happy to see how many parents were there to walk their kid into the first day of school! We really do have great parent participation at our campus. I love it for all of those sweet babies. We actually got lucky and found a parking spot pretty close to the school. Someone must have just pulled out. We went in and delivered gifts to his other teacher and then back to his homeroom class. We were able to spend quite a bit of time with Mason's teacher. I left there with an amazing sense of peace! I just know it's going to be a great year.

I am hoping and praying he has an amazing day! I am counting down the minutes until I can go pick him up. I miss him so much!

And our traditional Class of 2028 shirt! I bought this adult's large shirt to use on the first day every year to see how Mason grows into it over the years. One of my favorite traditions!!

How did we get here so fast?! Happy first day of school my sweet Mason!!
