{Halloween Spooktacular Camping Weekend at Great Escapes // 2022}

Our Halloween Spooktacular camping weekend at Great Escapes was such a blast! It was the best of both worlds for me because I had my in-laws, my parents, and my sister & her family there! I love it when we can get both sides of the family together. We were able to get campsites right next to each other and it made my heart so happy! We've definitely got to do this more often. Here's a look at our spooktacular weekend...

We arrived around 1:45pm on Friday and started unloading the trucks and setting up the camper. My family arrived shortly after we did and did the same thing. Once we were at a good stopping point, we loaded up and drove over to Jacksboro for some of the best burgers at Herd's. Nate, his parents, Mason and I have had Herd's burgers before, but it was new to my parents and my sister's family! We were excited for them to try it! We knew they'd love it - and they did!! I only took one picture. I wish I would have thought to take some videos and pictures of the place! And the food!

Mason looks thrilled about me taking his picture, right? haha! After lunch, we headed back to the campsites. We chilled for a bit and then started setting up our decorations for the site decorating contest.

We got quite a bit done and then called it a night. Saturday morning we got ready and ran to the dollar store (or stores) for some more lighting for our campsite! Some of the decorations were hard to see. We found several strobe lights to add to our decor! On the way to the Dollar General in Jacksboro, we stumbled on the coolest car show!

After visiting 3 dollar stores, we headed back to camp to finish our decorating! Later in the afternoon, I put together these charcuterie boards (with the help of my sister and mother-in-law). Aren't charcuterie boards just the best? I love snacky type foods! It was the perfect afternoon snack on Saturday!

Then we continued with the decorating! At 5:00pm my sister and I took Mason and Hunter to trick or treat at the campsites. There were so many campers participating and it was fun to see all of the different decorations and costumes! We even ran into the Sanderson sisters!! The rest of the crew stayed behind to finish decorating and get ready for the trick-or-treaters!

Once the boys got tired of trick-or-treating, we went back to the campsite to hang with the rest of the crew and wait on the judges to come by and see our campsite! We got back so much amazing feedback about our site and decorations!

We ended up getting 2nd place for our campsite decorations. The first-place winner had an inflatable haunted house at their site. It was pretty cool.

Sunday we packed up and went home. It was such a fun weekend and I already can't wait until next year.
