{FREEPORT BEACH // SUMMER VACATION DAY 5 RECAP}

This is the last and final recap of our beach trip...day five, our last full day at the beach. 6 days is all our family could spare this summer when it came to vacation due to work and school schedules.  We chose to go somewhere fairly close so we could make the most of that time. And that we did! Day five was packed to the gills with nothing but goodness. And, it's safe to say that day five was easily Mason's favorite day of the trip! Keep reading to find out why.

We woke up that morning and booked a helicopter ride for Nathan, Mason, and I. We promised Mason that we would do it before the trip was over and we made good on our promise! Our ride wasn't until 1:15pm that day, so we had some time to kill. We decided to spend that time by going to Murdoch's. It's one of the biggest shops on Galveston Island and oddly enough, I've never been there. It's located right on the seawall and parking is hard to find. And because of that, you have to park blocks and blocks away and then cross the busiest street in Galveston. But, we lucked out that day and found parking right down the road from Murdochs, and on the same side of the street. That's a double win! We shopped and found us some souvenirs before we had to head to the helicopter!!

Originally I was just going to let Nate and Mase go on the helicopter ride, but they talked me into joining them. And? I am so glad they did. It was one of the most fun things we have ever done! We chose the 10-minute beach tour and it honestly wasn't enough time. I could have stayed up there for hours! The beach looks so beautiful from the sky. I would have to say the best part of it all was watching Mason's reaction during the ride. He was in complete awe. I hope that seeing wonder and excitement in his sweet little eyes is something I never ever get over as a Mama.

If you ever have the opportunity to ride in a helicopter over the beach DO IT!!! I am not a fan of airplanes by any means, but this was so different. It was enjoyable and relaxing.

After our ride, we went to lunch at Rainforest Cafe. It's always a favorite of ours. The ambiance at Rainforest is always so fun. It really makes you feel like you are on vacation. We all enjoyed our meals and then we went on the Rainforest Adventure Ride. If you've never been on the ride it's like a water/cave ride through the Rainforest. Besides being freezing cold in there, it was fun.

After lunch, our group parted ways again. Nate, Mason and I went to search for seashells on the beach while the rest of the group went back to the RV resort. We found so many great seashells and even saw a shark! It may have been a dead and flat shark, but it was a shark nonetheless.

When we got back to the resort we found the rest of our group in the pool so we joined them for a bit. It didn't take long for everyone to work up an appetite. We decided on a little Mexican food joint in Surfside and it was amazing!!

After supper, we capped the evening off with a trip to the Jettys. And there we caught another amazing sunset. I would have to say watching the sunset was one of my favorite parts of the trip. I am a mountain girl through and through, but every time I witness a sunset on the beach I think "okay, mayyyyyybe I could live at the beach!" ha!

It goes without saying that we had an incredible trip and made so many amazing memories. I am so thankful that we get to travel with our family like we do.
