{Coastal Trip Recap // Days 3 & 4}

More Saltwater, Sunsets & Sweet Moments

There’s just something about waking up at the beach. It’s like your soul starts the day already at peace. This trip to the coast was nothing short of wonderful...the kind that fills your heart and makes you so thankful for slow days, salty air, and family time. We didn’t do a whole lot outside of the house, and honestly? That was the best part. Just being together, relaxing by the water, and soaking up the sunshine felt like exactly what we all needed. Here’s a little peek into Days 3 & 4 of our trip…

{Coastal Trip Recap // Days 1 & 2}

Freeport, TX – Saltwater, Sunsets, and Sweet Family Time

After what felt like the slowest countdown in history, we finally made it to the coast! On Wednesday, July 16th, we pulled into our beach house driveway around 6:45pm. Nate’s parents had already arrived and were settled in, so we got straight to unloading all the things...bags, coolers, fishing gear... you know the drill.

{Beach Bucketlist Update & By the Numbers // 2025}

Just last week, I shared our plans for a beach getaway to Freeport, Texas, and all the things we were hoping to do while we were there. Now that we’re back home (and still sweeping sand out of the car), I thought it was the perfect time to circle back and give a little update on what we actually checked off that beach bucket list... and share a few fun stats from our time away.

{Beach Bound Bucket List // Freeport, Galveston & Surfside, TX Edition}

The countdown is ON! We’re packing up for a few salty, sunny, soul-refreshing days along the Texas coast...and I couldn’t be more excited. We’ll be spending our time in Freeport, but we’re just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Galveston and Surfside Beach, too. That means triple the adventure, triple the exploring, and (hopefully) triple the peace.

{Beach Packing List // 2025}

Next week we’re packing our bags and heading south to soak up some sunshine and salty air in Freeport, Texas! We’ll be staying Wednesday through Sunday in the sweetest beach house...right on the marina with a private pool, plenty of space to relax, and the kind of outdoor setup that screams vacation mode.

Fun fact: this will be our 2nd time to rent this house. We loved it so much the first time that we decided to rent it again for a few nights of beach bliss. It looks like it has switched owners and has a few updates since we've been there. We're excited to see what has changed. I’m already dreaming about morning Jesus time with a marina view and evening walks on the sand.

{Port Lavaca // Day 1 // KOA, Swimming & Danny's Seafood House}

 Nate's parents booked a camping trip for the 4th of July weekend down in Port Lavaca, TX. Some good family friends of ours joined us as well. Nate's parents, Ty & Michelle got there on Thursday afternoon and we met them there that evening. Nate worked a half day and I worked until 4pm. We were packed and ready to go the minute I got off work!

{Go Topless weekend at Crystal Beach}

 This was our 2nd year to attend Go Topless at Crystal Beach. Our first experience was in 2018. We skipped 2019 and the pandemic shut down 2020. 2018 was a pretty crazy time, but we enjoyed it. We always get a beach house to resort back to if things get too crazy. This year we shared a house with 3 other couples and it was nice.

{Beach House Tour // Surfside House}

We had so many people ask us about the beach house we were staying at during our recent vacation to Surfside beach. So, I decided to do a beach house tour.

{FREEPORT, TX ~ SURFSIDE BEACH // SUMMER VACATION 2020}

I've been putting this post off for far too long! I think I was intimidated by the number of photos I took (and making the YouTube video). Anyhow, back on June 16th, we headed down to the Freeport, TX / Surfside Beach area for several days! Nate's entire family went and it was the first time in years that we have all been together for a vacation! It was really nice.

{FREEPORT BEACH // SUMMER VACATION DAY 5 RECAP}

This is the last and final recap of our beach trip...day five, our last full day at the beach. 6 days is all our family could spare this summer when it came to vacation due to work and school schedules.  We chose to go somewhere fairly close so we could make the most of that time. And that we did! Day five was packed to the gills with nothing but goodness. And, it's safe to say that day five was easily Mason's favorite day of the trip! Keep reading to find out why.

{FREEPORT BEACH // SUMMER VACATION DAYS 3 & 4}

In efforts to get my vacation recaps wrapped up, I am combining days 3 & 4! Both days were amazing vacation days!! Here is a look at days three and four of our vacation.

{FREEPORT BEACH // SUMMER VACATION DAY 2 RECAP}

I'm back to recap day 2 of our summer beach vacation! Again, it was another day of heavy picture taking so I will only share day two today. We all slept in until 9ish and it was glorious. Isn't that what vacation is all about? Staying up late and sleeping in? One of my favorite parts. We knew that we wanted to do some shopping and figured a weekday would be better than a weekend as far as crowds go so we got ready and headed to The Strand (downtown shopping district in Galveston).

{Freeport Beach // Summer Vacation Day 1 Recap}

We just returned from an amazing family summer vacation to the beach! We only had 5 short days to spend at the beach, but we made the most of it and packed a lot into our days. And because of that, I am going to recap by the day. Otherwise, it would be a never-ending post. Today is day 1 of the recaps.

{Vacation in Numbers // Freeport, TX}

Hi y'all! I took a little bit of an unexpected break from this space. Work was absolutely crazy the week before vacation and I had zero time to draft any posts! Now I have tons to catch up on. We just got back from a beach vacation and it was pretty amazing!! Today I am going to recap our vacation in numbers.

{Weekend Wrap-up // Beachin'}

Happy Tuesday! I tried to make this post happen yesterday, but just couldn't. I was exhausted from the weekend and then, you know, Mondays. Ugh! I'm covering for a co-worker for the next two weeks, so my workload has doubled. Anyhow, we had such an amazing weekend. We decided on a whim to take Mason to the beach as one last hurrah before school starts back. It was such a good decision because we had the most incredible weekend. It was perfect. Not one thing I would have changed! I love those weekends, but wish they could last forever.
