This past Saturday we left home bright and early to meet some friends at the Dallas World Aquarium. Nate had met Chris through a fishing tournament and they have stayed in touch. It was the first time for the rest of us to meet. Chris' wife and I showed up wearing almost the exact same thing, Our shirts were similar and the same color, our pants were the same shade of blue jean and we both had on camel colored sandals. To everyone else it probably looked like we planned it. We met at 9 when the aquarium opened and I am so glad we did. We were able to take our time casually strolling through the exhibits while talking and forming new friendships! It was an amazing day.
Mason's favorite exhibits were the shark tank/tunnel and the sloth. The shark tank was surprisingly very relaxing to sit in and watch. Funny that I was relaxed while hanging out with sharks. We stayed in the tunnel for quite some time. My favorite was getting to know new friends!
The exhibits ended at the gift shop so we took the boys in. Mason got a sloth and our friend's little boy picked out a Nemo fish. They were both so excited. We saw on the pamphlet that there was a sloth exhibit going on right at that time so we worked our way back over to it. It was so cool to see a sloth just hanging out in the tree! He was so happy and content as can be sitting in the tree.
Around this time it was lunch time and we were all hungry. We had planned on going to lunch together. Our elevator was right by the restaurant in the aquarium so we decided to check out a menu. It was so reasonably priced and we all found something we wanted so we just ate there. We figured it would be easier than trying to meet somewhere else in Dallas. The lunch was delicious and we were able to talk yet even more. It's so awesome to find friends that have the same interests as you!
After lunch we made our way back to the shark tank once more! And then to the outdoor penguin exhibit we missed the first time. It was 2:00pm by this time and we had another event to be at around 3:00pm so we had to part ways. Otherwise, I am sure we could have talked and hung out for even longer. I found someone to take a group photo before we all left.
I made a little video combining the photos and videos I took. They're all from my iPhone 7 plus. I didn't attempt to take my big camera because it was a rainy day.
Chris runs a YouTube channel and wore his GoPro throughout the day. He made a really great video of our time at the aquarium so I wanted to share that here as well.
What a fun place to visit! We haven't visited an aquarium but the BIG Bass Pro shop in Springfield is opening one up soon and we really would like to go for a visit at some point.
