Happy Thrifted Thursday, friends! You know by now that Thursdays around here are reserved for one of my favorite little hobbies...thrifting. There’s just something about the thrill of the hunt, the satisfaction of finding unique pieces, and of course, the joy of snagging them at a fraction of retail price. Last Friday ended up being one of those really good thrifting days, and I couldn’t wait to share all the details with y’all.
It started out as a simple little shopping day. Nate and I picked up his mom for brunch and a bit of browsing. Our plan was to try out First Watch, which just opened in town, and then swing by TJ Maxx. Well, apparently the rest of the town had the same idea, because even close to noon the place was packed (it's a breakfast place). We decided to let the “newness” wear off and try it another time. So instead, we skipped straight to TJ Maxx.
We strolled up and down every aisle, hunting through the racks and shelves like we always do. Nate’s mom found some goodies...including a delicious-smelling candle and a perfume that I helped her pick out. Nate scored a pair of jeans and also grabbed a sweatshirt and a pair of shorts for Mason. I love that we all came out with something, but the real adventure was still ahead…
Nate had heard about a new thrift store in town called Vintage Threads and wanted to check it out. They promised “true vintage finds,” and let me tell you—they delivered! It’s a small shop, but don’t let the size fool you. Every rack and shelf was packed full of treasures. Nate walked out with a pair of 511 pants, and I found a pair of Vervet Jeans. Now, I had never worn that brand before, but I know they retail for around $79 and up. I paid just $13 for mine! They fit like a dream...slightly baggier with a raw hem that gives them that effortlessly cool vibe. I don’t have anything like them in my closet, so they felt like a fun little fashion risk. I can already picture them styled with chunky fall sweaters and boots once the temps finally cool down. Don’t you love when you find something totally unexpected at a thrift store?
After Vintage Threads, Nate suggested we head to my favorite thrift store in Mansfield. Y’all, my heart just about leapt out of my chest. We didn’t even make it past the entrance before our cart was already half full!
They had just rolled out all of their fall goodies on a display shelf right at the front door, and we went wild. Pumpkins, cozy textures, autumn décor...it was like fall heaven. Nate browsed around for a bit before heading back to the car to give us girls plenty of time to shop. He’s a good man like that. Meanwhile, his mom and I took our sweet time, checking every aisle and piling our cart higher and higher. Eventually I had to grab my own basket because hers was overflowing!
My final haul there included four sweaters (because one can never have too many cozy sweaters), a framed sign, a pair of earrings, a round metal tray, and a basket that I plan to use for a project. I was so happy with each and every thing I found.
Our last stop was a small thrift store that holds a special place in my heart: Pennies from Heaven. Nate’s mom had never been there, so I was excited to take her. Nate immediately made a beeline for the men’s section and found SO many nice things, some even with the original tags still attached. We thought we hit the jackpot…until we got to the register and realized none of those items had price tags. And unfortunately, they wouldn’t sell them to us. Womp, womp. That was such a bummer, but we didn’t let it ruin our day.
We still found plenty of other goodies. I scored several dresses, and because most were half off, I paid just $2 or $3 apiece. Total steal! I also grabbed a book and a few other odds and ends. Nate and Mason both picked up some great pieces too, but they got them washed and put away before I could snap pictures. Boys!
I'll have to get better pictures of the clothes but I was too rushed to take pictures of each individual item. I'll try to remember to take pictures when I wear them. The sweaters and jeans are on the left and the dresses are all on the right. So many options for church, now!

Not bad for a full day of shopping, right? I came home with bags full of clothes, home décor, and accessories...all for less than what a single pair of jeans would have cost me at retail. That’s the magic of thrifting!
It was such a good thrifting day, and sharing it here makes me want to do it all over again. Days like this remind me that thrifting isn’t just about the “stuff” you find...it’s about the memories made while hunting for treasures. A day of laughing, shopping, and spending time together with Nate and his mom? That’s priceless.
So tell me…have you thrifted lately? What’s the best deal you’ve ever scored?
