I mentioned in our Weekend Wrap-Up post here that we stopped by one of my favorite little local thrift stores...Pennies from Heaven...while out running errands on Saturday. It’s one of those sweet, tucked-away places that always has a little treasure waiting to be discovered.
As soon as we walked in, my eyes immediately darted to a table filled with Bibles, hymnals, and devotionals. You already know how much I love me a thrifted Bible, hymnal, or anything faith-filled. There’s just something so special about holding something that’s been part of someone else’s walk with the Lord. I went through the entire table and ended up grabbing a classic Baptist Hymnal (you can never have too many) and the sweetest little Minecraft-themed Bible for our nephews. The spine is a little damaged, but the inside is immaculate. And it's the inside - the WORD - that matters anyhow!
They’re 7 and 5 and have recently started attending church, which fills my heart with so much joy. I thought the Minecraft theme might draw them in and help them get excited about reading God’s Word. I pray this little Bible helps plant seeds that grow strong roots in their hearts.
After browsing the books, I headed over to the 4th of July rack. I spotted the cutest white button-up shirt embroidered with tiny stars and fireworks. Y’all...it was giving full Grandma vibes, but in the most endearing way. I had it in my hands the entire time I browsed. Ultimately, I put it back (Texas heat on the 4th is no joke), but now I kind of regret it! It was just so stinkin’ cute. Part of me wants to swing back by and see if it’s still there. What’s meant to be, right?
I did end up snagging the cutest pair of sneakers with red laces...they totally sold me. I love that classic sneaker style, and the pop of red just screamed summer and patriotic fun!
That’s all I picked up this time, but I’m thrilled with my little haul. Sometimes it’s not about how much you find, but how much you love what you bring home.
Have you been thrifting lately? Found anything fun, quirky, or meaningful? I’d love to hear all about it!
