There are some places in Texas that you visit, and then there are those you experience. The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden in Kerrville is most definitely the latter. Nestled in the heart of the Hill Country, this stunning and sacred space offers far more than just beautiful views, it touches your heart and soul.
We visited the garden on a trip to the Texas Hill Country, and to say it was moving would be an understatement. From the moment we stepped onto the grounds, we felt the peace and presence of The Lord.
The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden is home to over $3 million worth of monumental Christian sculptures, each one a powerful depiction of scripture and spiritual truth. The centerpiece is the towering 77-foot "Empty Cross", made of Cor-ten steel, standing boldly on the hilltop and visible from miles around. It's more than just a sculpture, it’s a symbol of hope, healing, and redemption.
As we walked the prayer path, lined with Scripture tiles and massive limestone blocks, we couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with emotion. There were moments of silent reflection, quiet prayers, and even tears. It's a place where you feel God’s presence. It was humbling and uplifting all at once.
A Hill Country View Like No Other
The panoramic views of the Texas Hill Country only enhance the sacred beauty of the garden. Whether you come at sunrise, mid-day, or sunset, the light filtering through the cross is nothing short of breathtaking. It's the kind of place where time seems to slow down, and you can truly be still.
The garden is open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, 365 days a year, and it's always free to enter (donations welcome). No matter when you go, it welcomes you with open arms.
