{Stars, Stripes, and Lakehouse Nights // 4th of July Fun}

Happy 4th of July, friends!

We’re ringing in this Independence Day a little differently this year...and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Instead of our usual camping trip and city fireworks, we packed our bags and headed to the lake for a long weekend of red, white, and blue fun!

We rented the cutest little lakehouse for the weekend, and it truly feels like the perfect place to celebrate the 4th of July. Tucked right along the water, it has all the charm and relaxation we were hoping for...and the best part? It’s just across the lake (only about 4.4 miles by car!) from my parents’ lakehouse, as well as two of my aunts’ lakehouses. So even though we’re technically in a rental, it still feels just like home... only with sweeping lake views, a new backyard to explore, and that peaceful, vacation-y kind of quiet that you can only find by the water. With so much family close by, it’s going to be a weekend packed full of cousins, laughter, shared meals, and all the traditions we love most. I can already tell...it’s going to be one of those weekends we talk about for years to come.

We’re staying at the rental with Nate's family, and Mason brought a friend along to join in on the fun. It’s shaping up to be such a sweet time filled with all the things we love most...family, friends, fireworks, and festive food. I mean, what more could you ask for?

Our plans are simple, but perfect. We’ll be spending our days soaking up the sunshine, floating in the lake, playing yard games, grilling out, and indulging in all the classic 4th of July treats...hot dogs, burgers, watermelon, and probably way too many popsicles. When the sun goes down, we’ll gather together to watch fireworks light up the sky over the water. Pure magic. We also plan to get food from our favorite little hole in the wall Mexican food joint!

Wishing you all a safe and sparkly 4th of July...full of joy, freedom, and lots of little moments to be grateful for.
