{Colorado 2025 Bucket List Update // What We Did & What We Missed}

We’re back from Colorado, and while I’m still dreaming about those mountains and cooler temps, I figured it was time for a little update on our 2025 Colorado Bucket List. If you saw my original post, you know I had a list of 23 things I hoped we’d squeeze in on our trip.

Well, we didn’t hit them all...but we did manage to check off 15 (including one surprise stop that wasn’t even on the list!), and I’m so thankful for the sweet memories we made. The rest? Well, I’m just calling that our “next time” list.

What We Did (15/23)

  1. Spent time with friends – The best kind of memories are made with your people.

  2. Visited the Air Force Academy rink – A must-see for our hockey hearts.

  3. Explored Garden of the Gods – Breathtaking. Every view was a “God moment.”

  4. Had a Father’s Day cookout – So special to celebrate in such a beautiful setting.

  5. Drove up to Pikes Peak – 14,000+ feet of awe and wonder.

  6. Saw the Broadmoor Hotel – Grand and gorgeous!

  7. Touched the healing water in Manitou Springs – Such a cool experience.

  8. Watched the boys’ baseball practices

  9. Saw Red Rock Canyon – So peaceful.

  10. Tried BJ’s Velvet Freez – A classic local treat!

  11. Visited Ball Arena – this time with Nate (he was golfing the last time we went).

  12. Walked around Red Rocks Amphitheater – Just WOW.

  13. Ate at The Cherry Cricket – Delicious and fun!

  14. Saw Glen Eyrie Castle – Beautiful and filled with history.

  15. Bonus: Miramont Castle – This one wasn’t on our list, but we’re so glad we stopped!

What We Missed (8/23)

  1. Shopping in Old Colorado City

  2. Eating at Skirted Heifer

  3. Touring the Manitou Cliff Dwellings (we saw them from a distance!)

  4. Visiting the Pioneer Museum

  5. Seeing the Will Rogers Shrine

  6. Hiking to Helen Hunt Falls

  7. Grabbing a scoop at Little Man Ice Cream

  8. Exploring Palmer Park

  9. The Paint Mines

Even though we didn’t get to every single item on our list, we lived every moment we were there — and that’s what really matters. Some of the best parts of the trip were the unplanned ones… like catching baseball practices and stumbling upon castles. God showed up in the little moments, the quiet mountain drives, and the simple joy of being with the ones we love.

Colorado, you were a dream. And we’ll be back...because that leftover list is calling our name!

Until next time… back to the Texas sunsets we love so much.
