Happy finally Friday! I know I said last week was long, but this week takes the cake. Nathan and I both got sick with allergies and I have a cold as well. With that being said, we didn't go to church on Wednesday and that totally threw off the week. It was so weird to be at home on a Wednesday, but we needed the rest. I was asleep before 9 pm that night and it was glorious...until I woke up wide awake at 2:30 and couldn't breathe or sleep. I didn't fall back asleep until sometime after 4 am and then was back up at 6. And on top of everything else I have been dealing with some back issues this week. Not sure if I pulled a muscle or just slept wrong or what, but it's pretty annoying. I am falling apart. haha. Anyhow, I'm happy it's Friday. Here's a little bit of what went on this week...

{T W O} // The Easter Bunny:
Going to visit the Easter Bunny has never been a tradition of ours. I know the malls usually have the Easter Bunny photo option, but the nearest mall is an hour or so from us. And I've seen and heard how crazy crowded they are and how long the line usually is. I've seen people say they've waited over 2 hours to see the Easter Bunny...no thanks! While the Easter Bunny does visit Mason on Easter morning it's never been the focus of our Easter. If that makes sense. Mason did get to see the Easter Bunny this year, though. He was at Mason's school on Monday. Mason was well aware that it was his PE Coach dressed up, but was still a good sport. He said,
Mom, I know it was Coach Davis because I saw his shoes. But, I didn't want to ruin it for the other kids so I didn't say anything.
Oh I just love his heart! And look how sweet the picture was...
{T H R E E} // PTO Convention:
I took Tuesday off work to join some of my favorite mama's (& friends) for a PTO convention that was in town. I am so glad that I did. We had so much fun walking around all of the exhibits and came home with so much swag! Mason was excited about all of the things that I brought him home. His favorites were the edible sand art and the spirit sticks. I think it was unanimous that the spirit sticks were the favorite among the mama's, too. The company is called Spirit Monkey and they sell spirit sticks to go on a key ring in which the kids can put on their backpacks. They are basically embroidered patches that fit on a key ring. They have 1000s of options; honor roll, perfect attendance, Happy Birthday, good conduct, caught doing good, top reader, A+ teacher, God is always with you, etc. If none of their pre-made ones work for you there is the option to customize them. Schools use these either to sell as a fundraiser or to use for incentives like rewarding good behavior. I hope we can incorporate these into our school somehow. They are just too cool! They let us pick out several to use as samples. I picked out ones that I knew Mason would love and they now reside on his backpack. We also picked out cute PTO shirts to wear at their Buddy Fun Day coming up! We're going to customize the backs of them!
{F O U R} Magic Jelly Beans:
Every year Mason's Nana has him plant 'magic jelly beans' which sprout lollipops on Easter. Mason went over Wednesday evening and they planted their beans! I can't wait to see what kind of lollipops grow on Easter!
{F I V E} // Eye Doctor Appointment:
Mason has an eye appointment today and we are so excited! He is in dire need of a new set of glasses. When he first picked these out we loved them! They looked adorable on him and were perfect because he customized them himself. Buuuuut, they have stretched out and no longer fit his face. We've had them tightened up so many times, but they eventually stretch back out. He's constantly having to lift them up. I have to work so Nate is taking him to the appointment. I can't wait to see what he picks out.
And that's all I've got for today! Have a great weekend and a Happy Easter!
Yup this week was a doozy! I hope you feel all better for the holiday festivities!!
ReplyDeleteI need to take C to the eye dr. at some point but when does he need to go? Isn't it right before starting K?
ReplyDeleteThe PTO convention sounds like it was fun! Those spirit patches are so cute. I had not heard about planting jelly beans to grow lollipops until recently and I think that it's the cutest idea! Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday and Happy Easter! Looks like the PTO convention was so fun!
ReplyDeleteOh man my glasses have done the same thing.it drives me crazy. I can't imagine wearing them that way as a kiddo. Can't wait to see what he picks!
ReplyDeleteWe do magic jellybeans too! And it's one of my favorite things. Any bit of extra magic in their childhood is good with me!
