{WESTERN KOUNTRY KLUB // KIDS SLEEP OVER}

Our friend group dusted off our boots and went a' two-steppin'!! We went to the Western Kountry Klub in Grand Prairie. It's famous for the fact that some of the movie "Pure Country (with George Strait) was filmed there! It's a fun little dancehall! We had the best time!!

{DALLAS STARS VS PITTSBURGH PENGUINS // Game 7}

 "Do you want to go to the Stars game tonight?" may perhaps be the best question I've ever been asked on a Thursday! I mean, is that even a question? Yes is always the answer to a Star's game! We secured some tickets and we were all ecstatic. These games are the most fun!

{Nate's first Rookie class}

We found out that the Stars Center offers an adult Rookie class so Nate signed up! Mason was ecstatic to have his dad on the ice and to be able to watch him play!! Plus, this gets Nate all the gear he needs to be able to attend parent/child open hockey sessions with Mason!

{PNut's Birthday Celebration}

We celebrated one of our dear friend's birthday over the weekend! The whole friend group was able to come and it was a blast! It's always a great time when we get together.

{Rookie Graduation}

 Mason graduated from the hockey Rookie class on Saturday! Nate's parents, brother, and sister-in-law came to watch! He gets so excited to have people come to watch him.

{Texas Tuesday // Bristol & Bluebonnets}

It's no secret around here that a drive out to the Bluebonnet fields (in the Jeep) fuels my soul! The drive from our house to Bristol is so pretty and it feels so good to be on some Texas backroads! We took a drive to see the Bluebonnets and pick up some food at the Bristol General Store

{College Station // Weekend Roadtrip}

Nate and I snuck away for a little weekend road trip. Mason opted to stay with his Grandparents.  Our friend's daughter was playing in a tournament in CS and we thought it would be fun to go! Nate and I headed out after Mason's hockey on Saturday morning and got there late afternoon! We checked into our hotel, then went to grab some food, and then site see.

{College baseball in Frisco}

While driving to the Vic's Kid's Party we saw that there was a college baseball tournament going on at the Frisco Roughriders stadium. Our favorite team was even there! So we decided after the party to head over and catch a game.

{Vic's Kids Party // Skating with the Mascots}

As part of the official kid's hockey club, Mason got a special invite to attend Vic's birthday party! He got to ice skate and hang out with the Dallas Stars Mascot, Victor E Green, and four others!! This was exclusive to only kids in the official NHL hockey club!  He was ecstatic!!

{A new flock // 2023}

Starting fresh with a new flock of chickens this year! I was able to find the breeds that I wanted right here in town at Atwoods and Tractor Supply.

{Dallas Stars vs Vancouver Canucks // Game 6 // A Huge SURPRISE for Mason}

We pulled off the ultimate surprise for Mason...

He knew we were going to the Stars game but he had no idea where we were sitting...

{Stars vs Blackhawks // Game 5}

Our nephew had been wanting to go to a Dallas Stars game with us so we made that happen! Mason was so excited to introduce him to the game he loves so much! We got there a bit early so that we could show Tanner around the AAC!

{Dallas Mardi Gras Parade}

One of the families in our friend group invited everyone to the Dallas Mardi Gras parade! We all met at a restaurant nearby for lunch before the parade. Then we headed over to get a good spot for the parade! It was a ton of fun!!

{Mason's first Rookie practice}

Mason had his first Rookie hockey practice on Saturday and he had a blast! It was so neat to see Mason get all suited up in his hockey gear for his first class. There is no greater joy than seeing your child so happy and excited about something.

{Mason's Hockey Fittings // 2023}

Ever since our very first Star's game back in December, Mason has been obsessed with the game of Hockey! He'd been asking us to get him skating and hockey lessons. We knew that the ice skating rink at the mall offered lessons so we went there to gather information. We were all set to sign-up through them when we learned from a friend that the Dallas Stars centers offered a "Rookie" program ever so often to train kids in the sport. So, we quickly went to the site to check it out. We were 1 day late for online sign-ups so Nate called them. They still had spots open and we were able to secure one of those spots for Mase! He was ecstatic. We had our fittings for gear and were blown away by the scope of this program.

{Superbowl Party // 2023}

 Some of our friends hosted a Superbowl party at their house! Most of our friend group was able to come. We all brought a dish and hung out for the majority of the day. It's always a great time when we all get together.

{Stars vs Lightning // Game #4}

Nate and I were sitting on the couch on Saturday afternoon and one of us mentioned going to the Stars game! It was kid appreciation day and we really wanted Mason to be able to attend for all the activities! With less than an hour until the game, we secured some tickets and were on our way!!

{Stars vs The Ducks // Game #3}

Some of our dear friends got tickets to the Stars vs Ducks game and offered us three of their extra tickets! We quickly (and gratefully obliged).  This would be our first game since we went back on December 8th.  Our December and January were jam-packed or we would have gone to more games during that time. Anyhow, we were so excited and we couldn't wait to get there!!

{Ice Ice Baby // 2023}

We finally got an ice day!! I mean...days...this is Texas after all! Nate is part of the de-ice crew at work which means that he goes in before it gets bad and then sleeps over at work (working around the clock) until it's all cleared up. This storm was nothing like the Great Snowpocalpse of 2021!!! Mason and I hunkered down at home for a few days while Nate was gone.  I only got the Jeep out once for pictures and then we stayed nice and toasty inside!

{This thing is Legendary // FWSSR 2023}

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo ~ This thing is Legendary!! This year we planned a trip to the stock show with our friend group. Most of them have never been (two families are from California)! So, we made that happen and we had so much fun.
