Happy Friday! I’m here with another edition of this little series I’m calling Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T. — a weekly roundup of different topics that change with the seasons. This week’s edition is Fall-themed with a heart rooted in faith. Think of it as a peek into my heart and home, kind of like sitting on the front porch with a warm cup of spiced tea, watching the leaves dance in the breeze, and catching up.
This week I am sharing what I’m Reading, Eating, Preparing, Obsessing , Recharging, and Trusting. Let’s jump in…
🍁 R – Reading
This week I’ve been reading through the Book of John using the She Reads Truth plan, and it has been such a beautiful reminder of who Jesus truly is...the Light, the Word, and the Savior who meets us right where we are. I’ve read John many times before, but every time I come back to it, something new stands out. It’s such a personal gospel, written from the heart of someone who really knew Jesus and wanted others to know Him too.
John’s writing feels so intentional… every word points back to the love and divinity of Christ. From the very first verse, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God,” you can feel the depth of His story unfolding. I love how this gospel paints such a tender yet powerful picture of Jesus — His miracles, His compassion, and His desire for relationship over religion.
🍁 E – Eating
Fall flavors are here! I’ve been leaning into hearty soups and warm breads that make the whole house smell like comfort. This week I made our "Texas Chili" that reminded me how the simplest ingredients can come together to make something nourishing...a sweet reminder of how God weaves all the little things in our lives for good.
🍁 P – Preparing
We’re preparing for the busyness that the fall season brings...school projects, hockey games, and the holidays peeking around the corner. More than that, though, I’m preparing my heart for Thanksgiving and Advent. I want to slow down enough to be intentional about gratitude and about truly focusing on Christ as we near the end of the year.
🍁 O – Obsessing
Lately, I’ve been completely obsessed with all things vintage and nostalgic Christmas. There’s just something so special about the charm of old-fashioned holiday décor...pieces that feel like they carry stories within them. I’ve been pulling out family keepsakes, treasured ornaments, and little bits of Christmas past that instantly take me back to childhood. And of course, I can’t resist a good thrift store find… give me all the retro Santa mugs, faded tins, and ceramic reindeer! Each piece feels like it holds a little bit of magic, a reminder that the sweetest Christmas memories aren’t about what’s new or trendy, but about the warmth, love, and tradition woven into them.
🍁 R – Recharging
Recharging looks like quiet mornings or evenings with my Bible, the glow of the Christmas tree, and a blanket wrapped around me. I’ve learned that rest isn’t just physical...it’s soul-deep when I spend time in the Word and in prayer. Even short pauses throughout the day can recharge me when I invite the Lord into them.
🍁 T – Trusting
This fall, I am trusting God’s timing. It’s easy to get caught up in what I think should be happening right now, but Ecclesiastes 3 reminds me that there is a season for everything. Just as the leaves know when to turn and fall, God knows the right timing for every detail of our lives. My prayer is to lean into that trust, even when I can’t see the whole picture.
As this week wraps up, I pray you’re finding the beauty of fall all around you...in the small moments, the big shifts, and in the presence of God who goes before us in every season. May this new week ahead be full of His peace, His promises, and His perfect timing.
Until next time, friend, may your weekend feel like a front porch in autumn: peaceful, cozy, and filled with the goodness of God.
