{From the Front Porch // Finding God in the Quiet Moments of Fall}

Fall always has a way of slowing me down... reminding me that just like the leaves, it’s okay to let some things go. It’s the season where God whispers in the wind, “Be still.” The world around me seems to hurry ahead...rushing into the holidays, making lists, decorating, planning...but my heart feels Him pulling me back to simplicity... to rest... to Him.

It’s in these quiet porch moments that I’m reminded how easy it is to fill my days with noise... schedules, screens, errands, and expectations. But when I pause... when I listen to the sound of the wind through the trees or the birds waking up... I realize that’s where God meets me most tenderly. Not in the chaos, but in the calm.

He doesn’t need me to have it all figured out. He doesn’t need perfection or productivity... just presence. The same God who painted every autumn leaf invites me to slow down and notice His beauty in the little things...the crunch of leaves under my boots, the laughter of my family, the warmth of a candle on the porch table.

This season, I want to trade hurry for holiness... noise for nearness. I want to make space for God in the in-between moments...in the early morning light, the quiet car rides, and the stillness before the day begins. Because when I do, I always find that He’s already there... waiting... faithful as ever.

So from my front porch to yours, I hope you find Him in the quiet moments of this beautiful season. Sit for a while. Watch the leaves fall. Breathe deep. And remember that the same God who created this season wants to walk through it with you.
