{Currently // May 2019}

Happy May 1st!! I have mixed feelings about this month!! I am super excited because it's the last month of school (bring on summer!!!!), but then it's bittersweet because it's Mason's last month at his current school. He will be turning 9 on the 25th of May and will start 4th grade in August. Which, is at a different campus! How did we get here so fast? I don't even want to think about it. So, instead, let's take a look at what's currently going on.  Here is a look at what I am currently admiringplayingborrowingremembering, and finishing.

admiring ::

Everything that is spring; the greener grass, the birds (especially the hummingbirds that like to visit our flower bush, the flowers, the sunrises, and the sunsets, and the longer days, etc. I am also admiring this Instagram (such a dreamy adventure), and this one too (so lovely).

playing ::

Hmmm, I'm not really playing anything. I guess just YouTube videos that I am catching up on? And music, always. Oh, I have been playing a lot of fetch with Lexi lately!! The weather has been glorious and that girl lives to chase the ball.

borrowing ::

I can't think of a single thing that I am borrowing at the moment. But I have been thinking about getting a membership at the old historical library in Waxahachie. It's a private library so they charge a fee, but it's so neat to visit. I think it would be nice for the summer for Mason and I to borrow books and to attend some of the events they hold there.

remembering ::

Just how much I love this time of year! It's a busy time of year, no doubt, but it's also such a sweet season of life. Mason is wrapping up the school year and with that comes field trips, buddy fun day, yearbooks, class t-shirts, etc. The weather is also usually pretty great and allows for all kinds of weekend adventures. We will go to Mason, TX around Memorial Day and that's one of our favorite trips ever. We camp in Mason, TX every Memorial and Labor day with about 18 or so other campers. We take up more than half of the camping spots and it's just a good time. Think community suppers underneath string lights. It's just the best. And then after this trip it's sweet summertime!!! Mason and I are so ready.

finishing ::

I'm starting to feel like a broken record with this blog post, but we are finishing up third grade. It literally feels like we just started third grade and Mason was upset about all of the changes that brought. New teachers, new principal, new rules, new schedules, new, new new. And then this morning I dropped him off with him saying "today is going to be a good day" and that he was excited about his Staar testing coming up in a couple of weeks. It really is amazing how much a child grows from the beginning of the school year to the end of the school year. And not just in height (Mason is almost my height now), but in maturity too.

Beginning of third grade:

And last week:

I mean...you can just see it in his sweet little face how much he has grown up in 9 short months. Time slow down, please.
