{Beaver's Bend trip // December 2017}

Some dear friends of ours booked a cabin for December 26-29th at one of our favorite places ever, Beaver's Bend. They had a spare room in the cabin and invited us down! We weren't sure we were going to get to go because we were anticipating the arrival of our newest nephew and then I came down with a stomach bug. But, by Wednesday the nephew was born and I was feeling better so we loaded up and went down.
I'm so glad that it worked out and we were able to go. We had a complete blast! The cabin was so nice and cozy and we just really, really enjoy the company of our friends. We got to Beaver's Bend pretty late on Wednesday so we just hung and talked a bit before calling it a night.

Thursday morning we got up, had some breakfast and then made plans to show them around Broken Bow/Beaver's Bend. We've been going there for years and they were new the area. So, we got to show them some of our favorite places...mostly in the state park. Our friends also happen to be Jeep owners, so that made it extra fun! #redjeepfamily + little pea

We spent a couple of hours driving around and exploring the area and then decided to head back to the cabin for lunch. It was pretty cold and we got over getting in and out of the Jeeps pretty quick! The kids played around the cabin for a while and even braved the hot tub out on the deck!

The guys took the TJ (green Jeep) to some nearby trails to test them out. They wanted to see if the bigger Jeeps would fit, but it was a no-go. The trails were more so for ATVs and UTVs. We were bummed, but then we remembered an Instagram account from the area and they're Jeep owners so we reached out to them about trails. They told us where to go so we all loaded up and hit the trails! The guys went in our Jeep and the girls went in the other red Jeep. It was so much fun! I even got to drive my friend's Jeep on part of the trail.

That evening we made supper at the cabin and just hung out! The kids got in the hot-tub once more (brave little things) and danced their hearts out! Us adults hung out at the table and just talked for hours upon hours. We had to be out of the cabin by noon the next day, but we didn't rush leaving Beaver's Bend. We hit some more trails! This time we drove for about an hour out and then back. We wanted to see the lake from the trails. We had heard there was an overlook to the lake, but we never found it. Nate let Mason drive for about 20 minutes or more. He did so good!

After the trails our friends left to start the trek back home. We hung around Broken Bow a little longer and went to check out some of our favorite spots. Broken Bow Lake is one of our favorite lakes. It's so beautiful and clear! And one of the only lakes I will get in. I don't like not being able to see what's swimming around me. No thanks! Of course we had to take some pictures of the Jeep by the lake! We were laughing that we had both Mason and Diesel (our Yorkie) with us, but we were having a photo shoot with the Jeep. Out of the three the Jeep is the only one that doesn't mind pictures! Mason and Diesel run the other way when a camera comes out.

After exploring the area for an hour or so, checking out our favorite outdoor store, and visiting the Lodge we got on the road to head home. Isn't Diesel the cutest Jeep dog ever? That one ear gets me every single time.

We had so much fun on this trip! In fact, we had so much fun that we've already booked T H I S amazing cabin for early summer. Counting down the days!! Cabin lodging is the best!
