{This Past weekend // Jan // vol. 1}

I used to recap our weekends here on the blog and somewhere a long the line I got away from doing that! I miss posting about this because our weekends are usually filled with adventures and fun! And because I think I would enjoy looking back on these one day. This weekend was a 3 day weekend for my boys, but not for me. I am working today. But, I am so thankful that I get to work from home. I couldn't imagine having to drive into an office while my boys were at home. And, the weather is supposed to get icy and bad here today or tonight. SO grateful I don't have to drive in this mess. Anyhow, here's a look at this past weekend...

...this past weekend we had basketball practice. Besides freezing in that old gym, it went fairly well. My favorite part is when the boys scrimmage each other.

...this past weekend we decided to try out Big Al's new restaurant Down the Hatch downtown. Big Al is a pretty big celebrity around here. He's on a morning show of the most popular radio station here. But, not only that, he {and the cast} do so much more. Anyhow, about 30 minutes after we sat down Big Al himself walked in. It was so cool to see him in person. Mason has no shame when it comes to meeting celebrities and couldn't wait to go say hi. Big Al was so kind and welcoming of Mason. He asked Mason if he wanted to take a picture and Mason obliged. Made my mama heart so happy. You all know how I love pictures. \

...this past weekend our 9:30 game time got moved to 10:30 am. I might have said a few "Praise Jesus'" and meant it with all of my heart! Mason is not a morning person...especially on Saturdays...and it's a blessing when we can let him sleep in!

...this past weekend I caught a glimpse of Mason in his teenage years! I looked over and saw these three and I had to catch my breath a bit. Who gave him permission to look so grown?

...this past weekend Mason played basketball and played well. He is having so much fun during the games. His Nana, Papa, Mimi and a cousin came to watch him play this week. It was so cute to see him wave at them from the court!

...this past weekend Mason got to 'call it out' when in the huddle. He was so excited!! "Jackets on three...1 -2 -3 JACKETS!!!!"

...this past weekend Mason was looking so adorable in the backseat of the Jeep and I had to take a couple of pictures. And when he doesn't hid from my camera? That's a good day!

...this past weekend we had a friend from church come over for a few hours. His mom had a funeral to go to and didn't want to take him to it. So, we had him spend Saturday afternoon with us. Mason was excited to have a friend over.

...this past weekend we went to my nephew's 4th birthday party at McDonalds. He was so excited to see everyone there for him.

...this past weekend we went to Applebees for supper and shoe shopping for Mason. He recently went through a growth spurt and all of his shoes were getting too small. After three stores we finally found some. Mason wanted these really obnoxiously huge hightops in black and bright blue and green. They looked like moon shoes! I was so thankful when they didn't have his size. And even more thankful when he agreed to some normal shoes!

...this past weekend we went to church and I was feeling so incredibly thankful.

...this past weekend we scheduled a grocery pick-up for after church. The nearest available pick-up location to us is about 25ish minutes from our house, but it's only about 10-15 minutes from our church. This service has been a blessing to us and saves so much time.

...this past weekend Nate installed some new handles in the Jeep. Mason and I hung out in the Jeep with him.

...this past weekend Mason played a little XBox. Again with the looking so grown...

...this past weekend Nathan built Mason's basketball goal in the house because it was too cold outside!

...this past weekend was for a lazy Sunday afternoon and an easy supper at home.

...this past weekend was a blessing!

Linking up with Heather, Johannah, and Lindsay for Hello Monday!
