{The Daily Dime // Jan}

Linking up with Kristin at Taz and Belly for The Daily Dime in which we take 10 pictures throughout our day and document the happenings of that day. I remembered to take these pictures (back on 1/8/2018) and document our day, but it has taken me forever to get this blog post written. I don't know why I keep forgetting! I'm glad she keeps this link-up open for a while. Anyhow, here is a look at a day in our life, The Daily Dime.

Notes:
Date - Monday, January 8th, 2018
Mason was home on Christmas break (last day before going back to school)
Mason - age 7 years and almost 8 months
All photos were taken with iPhone 7plus

7:45 - I headed into my office to start working. I answered emails and took care of everything pending. Then I went to wake up Mason. I wanted to wake him up fairly early since he started school back the next day. I know, cruel mom to wake him up early on his very last day of Christmas vacation. But, in my defense, those first days back after Christmas break are so hard on us! If I wake him up early he will get to bed earlier. The more sleep he gets the happier we all are.

8:38 - I go to wake up Mason. Somehow he made it into our bed in the middle of the night. But, I don't mind. I actually sleep better when he's in bed with us. I am not sure I will ever get over that.  Anyhow, it was hard to wake him because he looked so cozy! He always does. I cuddled up with him for a few minutes and let him gradually wake up.

8:51 am - we call Nate to say good morning and to let him know that Mason is awake. We chat on FaceTime for a while before getting out of bed.

8:59 am - Mason asks to make my coffee. Yes, please!! His first basketball game was that Saturday before and he stayed in his uniform all weekend! He even slept in it. Goodness, he's adorable. He makes my coffee and we make him some breakfast and then head to my office.

I work while plays on his iPad.

10:06 am - I get him to shower and finally change out of his basketball uniform so that I could wash it. Then it was back to regularly scheduled programming of him lounging around while I worked.

The rest of that afternoon was pretty uneventful. I worked and Mason played and watched shows on his iPad. We made tons of snacks and cups of milk (for him) and let the dogs out several times throughout the day. Normal stuff.

3:58 pm - the UPS guy delivers some fun Jeep parts and I do a little happy dance! I sure do love that I can order so many parts for my Jeep through Amazon Prime! I get so excited with each little part/upgrade we order and couldn't imagine waiting on normally shipping. I'm so spoiled to Amazon Prime.

We head back to my office and I wrap up work. I get off at 4 pm, but worked a few minutes late on this particular day.

4:32 pm - then it was time to match socks and straighten up the house. I always let this basket get full to the brim before I finally fold & match socks. Some days we just dig for a matching (or not) pair straight from the basket. Anyone else hate matching socks?

5:13 pm - I have a little quiet time to work on my Bible study. I'm doing a couple of studies in the YouVersion Bible App and one in She Reads Truth. Mason plays on his XBox in the living room.

5:25 PM - I throw supper in the oven and then continue my bible study until Nate gets home from work. We all eat supper, take showers and start to get ready for the new week. I can't find Mason's backpack anywhere! We search for a while and then realized that he left it in his locker on the last day of school. Thankfully, he didn't take a lunch that day because it was their Christmas party day. Otherwise I couldn't imagine what that would have been like 3 weeks later! Eeek.

7:24 pm - I continue to get us all ready for the next day! I write Mason a note for his lunch box every single day and I love it. Do you write lunch notes? I ask him all the time if he wants me to stop and he says no way! So, I will do it as long as he lets me.

7:48 pm - I get Mason into bed and set back those annoying alarms! Back to life...back to reality.
