We camped with Nate's parents and some of our really good friends got a cottage. They hung out mostly at our campsite, though! We all arrived on Friday early evening and got settled. Then we grilled some hot dogs and hung out talking by the campfire. Friday evening was a bit cool, but Saturday was just pure HOT! Totally opposite from our trip last year which was frigid! You just never know what kind of weather you'll have in October in Texas!!
Shortly after the pumpkin contest, we got busy working on decorating our campsite! We worked for about 5 hours nonstop and it came out pretty good!! We got so many compliments on it.
The costume contest and parade started at 5:00 so we all got ready and headed down to the front of the campgrounds. We had several of our group dress up, but we didn't take home any prizes. Nate's costume was definitely a winner in my book, though! And he was told the same thing by at least 97 other people that evening!
After the costume parade, we all came back to the campsites to regroup before the kids took off trick or treating amongst the campsites and cottages! The adults just hung out and watched the trick or treaters.
Our campsite looked a little different at night time with all of the smoke and lights!!
After the trick or treating we grabbed a quick bite to eat and then headed over to the dance! They gave out free beer, wine and soda at the dance and had a DJ. We had some fun on the dancefloor. And they also announced the winners of the campsite decorating and we won!
Sunday was clean-up and go home day! Womp. Womp. I already can't wait until next year's camping trip and hope our dear friends get to join us again! We had so much fun!!
