{Five on Friday // Autumn Glory}

Happy finally Friday! What a week it has been. I covered another desk this week and let's just say that I am so glad it's Friday. It has been one long and trying week. We have a lot of fun planned this weekend and I am just ready to get it started. But first, here is a little Five on Friday...all about Autumn!

ONE | Joining in with the Blended Blog for a little Fall Q&A

1.) All the colors! I just love the earth tones that come along with fall.

2.) Dare I say neither! I'm just not a fan of apple cider.
3.) Oh heck yes!!
4.) Pumpkin donuts, hands down
5.) Somewhere in the middle. I'm only 5'2 and I like it to cover my backside, but not reach my ankles.
6.) Chips and dips
7.) White! Especially the white fairytale pumpkins
8.) Both! I love a good hayride and bonfire even though both give me terrible allergies.
9.) Anything pumpkin flavored.
10.) Oh gosh, I have so many; pumpkin patches, festivals, camping, Halloween, Thanksgiving, haunted houses, fall crafting, etc.

THREE | Fall traditions are my jam!!

Go camping - we usually go with Nate's family in their Mansion on Wheels Camper. There's just something about camping in the fall. The cool brisk weather, the changing of the colors, the atmosphere, etc. We especially love our Halloween camping weekend at Mitchell Resort. Its such a great weekend of pumpkin carving, camping spot decorating, costume parades, costume contests, haunted houses, trick or treating, and a dance party to wrap it up.

Spend an afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch - by far one of my favorite traditions. For several years we went to the same little pumpkin patch a few towns over until we experienced the amazingness that is Mainstay Farms. It's the ultimate pumpkin patch! Think Latvian group swings, a Tonka dig site, a paved track with off-road huge sized pedal cars, duck races, a car painted in chalkboard paint that you can draw on, a fishing pond, hayrides, a huge jumping pillow, a three story treehouse, zip lining, a hay barn the kids can play on, superchute slide and of course pumpkins! Yep, it's awesome. And then last year a new pumpkin patch called Shadow Creek opened and made all of my fall loving dreams come true! It's the most picturesque pumpkin patch and I felt like I was walking through a part of Stars Hollow. Yep, it was that good. We can't wait to visit this year.

Making Fall crafts - this is something I like to do with Mason. I find crafts that are age-friendly for him and things that he would enjoy. I love being creative with my best boy!

Picking out Mason's costume together - no spoilers, but this year is going to be fun and spooky!!

Take Mason trick-or-treating - this is usually a family affair. And by family I mean us & Nate's parents and brother and his girlfriend. I love that they are so involved in Mason's life and want to do things such as trick or treating with him. We usually have themed foods at Nate's parents on Halloween, too.

Go to Mason's school carnival - again, another family affair. #masonsentourage ha! Mason's one lucky little guy.

Carving/Painting pumpkins - another thing I love to do with my little guy! We usually buy him a couple of pumpkins that he has full reigns over. I love seeing what he comes up with. And this past year we did a bunch of this at Shadow Creek. They had a pumpkin decorating station where you could use their paints and tools, or you could buy kits for your pumpkin! This is where I was introduced to putting vinyl on pumpkins!!

Take Fall photos of Mason - love love love! Mason seems a little more cooperative in the fall when the weather is cooler and he's not sweating his little booty off. And fall pictures just come out prettier.

And of course, Thanksgiving - for the last few years we have gotten really lucky when it comes to Thanksgiving. And by lucky I mean that we had many Thanksgivings on several different days and not had to split up our time by driving to and from different places in one day. That has been a huge blessing! Normally we do an early brunch at Nate's Grandma's Thanksgiving Day and then spend a few hours there. (This will look a little different this year as she is in an assisted living facility now.) Then we come home and relax a bit before having a Thanksgiving dinner at Nate's parent's house. Then we all look through all of the black Friday adds to see if there's anything we must have. Sometimes us girls will got to a store that opens and has sales that night. Friday we have Thanksgiving with my family at my parents house and then Saturdays are for my mom's extended families. Lots of good food, family and fellowship.

What are some of your Fall-time traditions?

Four | Fall Television!

If I'm being honest, we don't really watch a lot of television in our house, but there's just something about fall shows that I love. On my watchlist this season (when I finally have time to sit and watch) are Grey's Anatomy, The Chicago's (Fire, Med, PD), A Million Little Things, Splitting Up Together, and New Amsterdam. I watched most of the first episode of New Amsterdam and loved it! Anything I should add to this watchlist?

Five | Posts from this week
