For as long as I can remember, we have always done Christmas on Christmas Eve with my parents. Even when we were younger, we got to open most of our gifts on Christmas Eve, and then of course Santa came on Christmas morning. This year was no different! After the candlelight Christmas Eve service, we went back to our house to get our things. Then we went to my parent's house to gather with my family.
My sister made a delicious meal of enchiladas, rice, beans, chips, dips, etc. Her enchiladas tasted just like the ones my Grandmother used to make. I told Nate that it was so amazing to have a bit of nostalgia at Christmas!! And it was one of the best meals I have had this entire year. After we ate, the kiddos got busy opening their gifts. It was such a joy to watch them open and then play together afterward.
