{Weekend Wrap-up // College football, Projects, Grandparent's Day}

Happy Monday!! We had such a good weekend mixed with just the perfect balance of going and doing and staying at home. Friday evening we had supper with one of my best friends since the 2nd grade and it was so good for my soul. I ran a few errands on Saturday morning and then we stayed home the rest of the day tackling cleaning and home projects. It felt good to get crafty for a bit. Sunday was Grandparent's Day so we spent the first half of the day with family and the second half at home. Monday came all too fast, but we are ready for a new week. Here's a look at our weekend wrap-up.

Like I said above, we got to have supper with one of my best friends on Friday evening. it was so good to spend time with them and to catch up on everything. We didn't take a single picture, but believe me when I say that it was an amazing time.

Saturday morning I woke up around 9 am to head into town to run a few errands and to pick up our grocery order. I got home around 11 and we unloaded the groceries, ate some lunch, watched college football {all day!} and tackled some projects. One of the first projects we worked on was a new frame/earring holder. I kind of have a thing for making earrings and well, I ran out of space. So Nate and I added chicken wire to a larger frame and only sustained a couple of minor injuries! Those edges on that chicken wire are sharp!

The second project was this adorable mug! I saw this cup in the Target dollar spot and immediately knew what I wanted to put on it.

The next project was a fall wreath! I wanted something to match my porch and I knew I wanted it to include lots of pumpkins! I used pumpkins I found in the Target dollar spot this season and they worked perfectly. This fall I am using a black and white theme with pops of orange and turquoise and I really love it!

Nate got our fall and Halloween stuff out of the attic, so I also did a bit of decorating. I will have a fall home tour soon. But for now, I will show you my tiered tray. I switched it over from a general farmhouse theme to a fall theme.

Again, mostly using items from the Target dollar spot. I might have an obsession! ha. They have the cutest and most inexpensive items for adding a little touch to your decor/home.

Sunday morning I woke up before my boys and enjoyed some coffee and time outside with the pups. There was a nice coolness in the air and it made me so happy and excited for fall. Now only if the rest of the day would have that cool breeze! I ran to town to get some things ready for Grandparents day and then back home to get ready. Nate's Grandmother's retirement facility put on a lunch for the occasion and it was lovely!

After lunch we went to visit my family for a bit and watched some of the Cowboy's game. Then we came home to finish the game and make supper. It was a great Sunday!
What did you do this weekend?
