33 Weeks!!

How Big Is Baby? 

Baby: Month 8

Baby’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month.

He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

How far along: 33 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 23lbs still, no weight gain in the last 3 weeks 

Maternity clothes: Yeppers

Stretch marks: Nopers

Sleep: PLEASE!!! Hard to get to sleep and even harder to wake up!!

Best moment this week: Tuesday – sonogram and seeing our sweet baby boy! Still has the big cheeks and growing right along – 4lbs 5oz. And Thursday, getting to hear his heartbeat on the Doppler!! Love that heartbeat – 138/139 bpm. (He obviously wasn’t fully awake yet!)

Movement: Oh yeah! Kicks in the left side of my belly, constantly!

Food cravings: Weird and random stuff at random times. Nothing constant. I’ll just be sitting here and start “Craving” something right then.

Food aversions: Popcorn

Gender: Still a boy!

Labor Signs: Nope

Belly Button in or out: Out and it’s hilarious! Makes me laugh.

What I miss: Tieing my shoes and painting my toes without losing my breath! haha

What I am looking forward to: Lots of things – getting off early today for Good Friday, Canton tomorrow, Easter/Mom’s Birthday on Sunday, Sonogram on Tuesday, softball on Wednesday, Dr Appt on Thursday!!!
