{Port Lavaca // Day 1 // KOA, Swimming & Danny's Seafood House}

 Nate's parents booked a camping trip for the 4th of July weekend down in Port Lavaca, TX. Some good family friends of ours joined us as well. Nate's parents, Ty & Michelle got there on Thursday afternoon and we met them there that evening. Nate worked a half day and I worked until 4pm. We were packed and ready to go the minute I got off work!

It was after 9:00 pm when we arrived so we said hi to our family friends and then started hauling everything into the camper. We hung out and chatted with Nate's mom, brother, and sister in law until well after midnight! Then we called it a night.

Friday morning we woke to Nate's dad making breakfast! We all hung outside chatting and catching up for a few hours. Nate and I walked around the KOA to check it out. It was dark when we arrived, so we didn't get to see much. It's such a beautiful rv resort. We stayed at Port Lavaca / Matagorda Bay KOA Holiday. The amenities were plentiful; pool, splashpad, arcade, a pavilion, hot tub, sand volleyball, cornhole, tetherball, pier, snack bar, camp store, aqua cycles, vending machines, watersports, etc.

Then we all decided to make it a pool day! We stayed in the pool for hours and met some great people.

Swimming works up an appetite, so of course we went out for dinner. We went to a place called Danny's Seafood House in Palacios, TX. The location and atmosphere were awesome. They had mostly patio seating on a canal. There were no tables big enough for our party of 11, so we had to split into two different tables. There was also a DJ playing music! The food was okay, nothing insanely great. We had a great time!

We came back to an amazing sunset!

It was a pretty awesome first day of camping!
