{Go Topless weekend at Crystal Beach}

 This was our 2nd year to attend Go Topless at Crystal Beach. Our first experience was in 2018. We skipped 2019 and the pandemic shut down 2020. 2018 was a pretty crazy time, but we enjoyed it. We always get a beach house to resort back to if things get too crazy. This year we shared a house with 3 other couples and it was nice.

We got down on Thursday evening and only 1 couple was there. We stayed up until after 2 am chatting with our friends (Mel & Trey) and then called it a night. Friday morning we got up and hit the beach! We visited with some of Mel's friends at one end of the beach, and then visited with our local Jeep club at the other end of the beach. It was a good time...until it wasn't. More on that later.

Sometime around 2ish, we headed back to the house to meet another couple that had arrived. We chatted for a bit and then made some lunch before heading back to the beach. As we were sitting there, Nate noticed that some police were coming down the street and they were coming in hot. So we all ran out front to see what was happening. An outdoor elevator malfunctioned at a house directly across the street and tipped over throwing out two older ladies. Then we notice that our friend was over helping (he's a fire chief) and doing chest compressions. One of the ladies didn't survive the accident. It was incredibly sad and all of our hearts were hurting. That kind of put us in a solemn mood for the rest of the weekend.

After lunch and the unfortunate accident, we headed back down to the beach for a bit. None of us were really in the partying mood, but we made the best of the evening. It definitely puts things into perspective and how quickly life can change.

That evening the 4th and final couple arrived. We hung out and chatted with them for a while. It was so great to have all of our group together under one roof!

Saturday morning we got up and got ready to post up at the beach. We had a great time just hanging out and watching all of the Jeeps drive by. There were so many awesome rigs. We hung out at that spot until around 7:30-ish and then decided to take a stroll down the beach. It took us over 3 hours just to go a few miles. And boy did we see some interesting stuff! You never know what you're going to see at Go Topless weekend!

Sunday was our coming home day! While there were some unfortunate circumstances, we all managed to have a great time together over the weekend. I feel like us 8 are part of some secret sister/brotherhood now! We all went through some crazy stuff together. I'm thankful for this group of friends and how quick and without hesitation, everyone was to lend a helping hand. Such good people!

It was an easy trip back home and we were ready to see our boy!
