{Fall - Pumpkin Patch}

We checked a few things off our Fall Bucket List this weekend!! But, one of them I am super excited about...our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch.

Last year we went to the Pumpkin Patch with our good friends, the Rochelles and planned to go again this year. We may just make this a yearly trip with our families. I love starting and keeping traditions!

On Saturday we woke up to cold and rain! I was slightly disappointed and worried the rain was going to ruin our plans. We knew the cold front was coming through, but thought the chance of rain percentage was lower. We got ready to meet the Rochelles in Ferris. We wanted to make a quick visit to all of our friends at First Baptist Church {they were having their annual Pioneer Days Fish Fry} so we got there a little early. It was nice to chat with everyone a bit. Then the Rochelles came and we were off!!

We stopped for a quick lunch at Whataburger. To be quite honest, it wasn't a good lunch. The boys were both being little turds and fighting over everything!! Nothing out of the ordinary...they were just being typical two-year olds!! We all managed to scarf down our food while being referees to two rambunctious kiddos!

And then we were off to Country Critters Pumpkin Patch. At this point it was still misting pretty heavily and I was getting quite bummed. But, the closer we got to the Pumpkin patch the more the rain fizzled out!! Definitely brightened my spirits!!

We got to the patch and there were many cars there. Nothing like last year, but there were at least 8-10 other cars there. It must have been all workers because we pretty much had the whole pumpkin patch to ourselves. It was really nice because the boys were able to just take their time and do whatever they wanted without having to wait. We were there two and a half hours or more.

Ready for picture overload?!

They headed straight for the playground, of course!!

Then they were off and running to the Pony rides. Mason loved it and may or may not have smiled and yelled the whole entire time!! I am so glad he's not scared of animals.

Next up was the hayride. Last year our ride was completely full. This year? Just our two little families and it was lovely!! The boys were so excited and had a good ole time. We used the opportunity to grab some pictures while they were a little still.

Next up? The bounce house...that they had entirely to themselves! Mason spent more time on his back/bottom than he did jumping. He thought it was a blast to "fall down". So, most of my bouncehouse pictures look something like this...

We all did the maze and the boys thought that was pretty cool. They went back in on their own and when they'd get to a dead end they would just crawl underneath and find a new path.

The boys picked out their pie pumpkins and we picked out our Jack-O-Lanterns. They had a much better selection this year than they did last year.

Nate and Tyler took the pumpkins to the car and we let the boys play a little more. They did the petting zoo and bounced a little more. Mason thinks he needs to ride every single animal he sees....

Then the funniest thing happened...the sheep got up and bucked him off!! And what does our little Masonbug do?

Get's up and says,

"Daddy, I rode that sheep like a big bull"

haha! I love this kid.

  4. I have never been to a pumpkin patch before. In fact I have never even seen one like that. The pumpkin patches around here, are just the fields that the pumpkins grew in, and you can go out and pick your pumpkin. That's it! haha
