This past Saturday was one of those days that fills your heart to the brim—our 9th annual family Christmas baking party. It’s a tradition that has become one of my absolute favorite days of the entire year. I count down to it every year, knowing it’ll be a night full of laughter, memories, and all the joy the holiday season brings.
Now, when I say “baking party,” it’s definitely more than just baking cookies (though we do plenty of that too!). It’s truly a full-blown girls’ night celebration. All the amazing ladies in my family gather together for an evening packed with fellowship, photos, dancing, games, delicious food, a gift exchange, and yes—some festive Christmas treat-making to top it all off. It's the kind of night that reminds me just how lucky I am to be surrounded by such strong, beautiful, and hilarious women.
A huge shoutout goes to my Aunt Donia, who is truly the heart and soul behind this magical tradition. Every year, she pours her creativity and love into planning the entire event. She picks a theme and coordinates decor, games, and gifts around it, and somehow it always turns out picture-perfect.
This year’s theme was inspired by my favorite Christmas movie—“Elf”! From Buddy’s signature green and yellow colors to whimsical touches that brought scenes from the movie to life, everything was spot-on and so much fun. I think this may be my favorite theme yet. It felt like stepping right into the North Pole—with a little extra sparkle and a lot of laughter.
What means the most to me, though, is the bond we share. I’m so deeply grateful for each of these women. We aren’t just family—we’re truly best friends. The love, support, and closeness we have is something I never take for granted, and every year this party reminds me just how special that is.
Here’s to many more years of baking, laughing, and celebrating the season together. My heart is so full.
