{I Read the Entire Bible in a Year—and It Changed Everything}

 At the beginning of the year, I set out with one big, personal goal: to read the entire Bible in chronological order. It felt ambitious, maybe even a little overwhelming, but something in me knew it was time to dig deeper—not just into Scripture, but into my relationship with God. And now, here I am at the end of the year… and I did it. I read the whole Bible from start to finish. And it has been life-changing.

If you’ve ever wanted to read the entire Bible but didn’t know where to begin, let me just say—I completely understand. There are so many books, so many chapters, and if you’re not following a plan, it can feel confusing or even discouraging. But the key for me was finding the right plan. I followed The Bible Recap by Tara Leigh Cobble through the Bible App, and I cannot recommend it enough. It’s a daily reading plan that walks you through the Bible in chronological order, giving context along the way with short, insightful recaps each day. It’s like having a guide walking alongside you, helping you see the big picture and understand how every piece of God’s Word fits together.

This journey wasn’t just about checking a box or completing a resolution. It was about showing up daily and letting the Word of God shape me. Some days were full of lightbulb moments; others were quiet and reflective. Some passages challenged me, others comforted me, but every single day brought me closer to the heart of God. I began to see His character more clearly—His faithfulness, His justice, His mercy, and His relentless pursuit of us.

Reading the Bible in chronological order helped me finally understand the storyline of Scripture. Events that once felt disjointed began to connect. I could trace the thread of God’s promises from Genesis to Revelation, and it made me fall in love with His Word in an entirely new way.

This experience has deepened my faith, strengthened my daily walk with the Lord, and helped me trust Him more fully—not just in the highs, but also in the hard moments. God’s Word is living and active, and when you spend time in it every day, it will change you.

So, what’s next?

Well… I’m doing it again in 2024!

Yep, I loved it so much that I’ve already committed to going through The Bible Recap plan again next year. And this time, I’d love for you to join me! If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I knew the Bible better,” or “I want to feel more connected to God but don’t know where to start,” this is the perfect place. Let’s do it together. Let’s build a habit that brings real peace, real truth, and real transformation. If you’re interested or need help getting started, reach out! I’d love to share more about the plan, how it works, and encourage you as you begin.

Because one thing I know for sure: spending a year in God’s Word will change your life—just like it did mine.
