{Tuesday Talk // Scripture for the New Year}

Starting a new year can be a bit overwhelming if you really think about it. Making plans, goals, and budgets can be quite the daunting task. When I am overwhelmed I turn to scripture and it lifts so much weight off my shoulders. Today I wanted to share some scriptures to give you hope as you step into a brand New Year.

1.) The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)

2.) but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)

3.) Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6 (ESV)

4.) The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.
Proverbs 16:9 (ESV)

6.) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17

7.) For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)

8.) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Provers 3:5-6 (ESV)

9.) Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and judgments he uttered.
1 Chronicles 16:11-12 (ESV)

10.) May he grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans!
Psalm 20:4 (ESV)

  2. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." is the verse we choice for Connor's dedication when he was a little guy. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

  4. #8 is my favorite bible verse of all time. I came across it right after my miscarriage almost seven years ago (before we had Jacob or Olivia) and it REALLY helped me through a tough time. It's been framed in my office ever since then.
