When my friend Meghan posted her fall home tour last week I spotted a pumpkin that I wanted to recreate! I ran out right after I saw her post and got the materials to do so. I knew I needed this on my porch asap! I absolutely love all things pumpkin...especially those you can use year after year!
Materials:
carvable or fake pumpkin {found ours at Target - $12}
ribbon or a bow {ribbon from Hobby Lobby - $3.99 for the roll, but I used a 40% off coupon}
paint markers {$1.98 each at Walmart}
hot glue gun
scissors
I started by making a bow out of the ribbon I bought at Hobby Lobby. Then I glued it to the top of the pumpkin so that I knew where the bow/ribbon would hang. Then I just free-handed "the halls" in between the ribbon with the black paint marker. I let it dry for a few minutes and then I took the gold paint marker and started coloring in the polka dots. That's it! Easy Peasy! The whole project cost me less than $15 bucks and took me maybe 15 minutes.
Have you made anything similar to this?

I loved that pumpkin when you shared a photo of it earlier. It's adorable and I love that you can use it every year since it's not real. So fun and it looks awesome on that bench, which I want to come steal. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love how yours turned out! It looks even better than the one I paid for! You are seriously talented, especially free handing "the halls"! And your bow is perfect too!
ReplyDeleteOkay how about I make us pumpkin goodies while you make adorable crafts and we can live in pumpkin bliss forever? This is so flipping cute! I love it.

ReplyDeleteDo you guys have a pallet pumpkin too? Or maybe that's a Christmas tree one? I can't remember now. We went to the pumpkin patch this weekend and they had a pallet one, so maybe that's what I'm thinking of?! Ha!

ReplyDeleteI love, love, love! I always see those pumpkins at the store, but I can never pull the trigger, but for a craft like this that will get brought out yearly, I can totally justify the $12. Love your creativity!
ReplyDeleteWell if that isn't the cutest little thing! Now I want to make one!!
