Mason's Elves brought him a Gingerbread house that morning and it was a Who-ville house from the Grinch!! And then he opened his book advent to find How the Grinch Stole Christmas. And then we surprised him with a trip back to Palestine (almost a 1.5 hour drive) to see The Grinch!
We arrived at the Grinch's Lair a few minutes before they opened. They were running late so we ended up waiting about 10 minutes in total. Not bad! We got to the counter and the lady that runs it recognized Mason from previous years. She took my address so that she could send me the banners she used the year before with Mason's picture on it. We didn't have to pay to get in since we had won the photo contest the year prior! We went ahead and went up the Grinch's Lair even though he wasn't ready yet. We were taking a picture of Mason by a tree when the Grinch came up behind us. I said "look Mason!" Mason said "hey Grinch do you remember me?" and he replied with "of course I do, Mason!" Mason was so excited. Only to later find out that it was someone completely different playing the part of the Grinch. While he was awesome, he was not as personable as the other one is/was, Mason was disappointed. All in all, we still had a good time.
We got to work on our Who-ville Gingerbread house as soon as we got home from visiting the Grinch! The cookie was so soft that it was wanting to fall apart. We had to bring out our trusty glue gun to help support it! Don't worry, Mason still got to eat a ton of candy and sugar!!
Merry Grinchmas!!!
