{Weekend Wrap-up // hair, boats, homemade ice cream and church}

 We had such a good weekend! It was one of those that was the perfect balance between busy and relaxing! Friday night my boys had a guys night while I had a girls night at my aunt's house. My cousin is a hairdresser and is currently doing most of the girls in my family's hair. She knew that several of us were due for a hair appointment so she scheduled a 'hair party night'. It was so fun and great to hang out with some of my favorite girls. Nate and Mason rented the new Captain America movie and got a pizza. They were both asleep when I got home and I was bummed, but I couldn't wait to snuggle with them.

Saturday started off with a slow and lazy morning. Well, for Mason and I at least. Nate went out to mow the yard, I watched some recorded shows and Mason snoozed until well after 10am. Then we all got ready for lunch at our favorite local spot, Oma's. It was as delicious as always. Then we came back home to get some things done around the house. Nate and I started homemade ice cream out in the shop while Mason watched the new Alvin & the Chipmunks movie. Once we got the ice cream going Nate pulled the boat out of the shop to clean it up a bit.

Mason then went to visit his Nana, Papa and uncle for a bit so it was the perfect opportunity for me to run to the grocery store. I wanted to get it over with so that I didn't have to wake up super early before church on Sunday! When I got back we all went back outside to hang out for a while. I tried to take some pictures of Mason, but he was being stubborn. He just doesn't like pictures.

Mason before a small bribe...

And after...

Ridiculous, right? Tell me I'm not the only one that has to bribe their child to take pictures sometimes! Meghan, I know you understand :)

Sunday morning I still woke up super early. Go figure! So I made myself a cup of coffee and went out to the porch for some quiet time. It was so cool outside and I almost went back in for a blanket. It made me so excited for fall. Two hummingbirds were frolicking and chattering away. They would never stay in the same place for any length of time so I could capture a photo! I sat out there with my camera for over 20 minutes. ha. They were fun to watch and listen to, though!

After some time on the porch I came in and washed dishes, did a couple loads of laundry, and made my boys some cinnamon rolls before having to wake them for church. It was our first Sunday to greet people before service. Mason took his role very seriously! He held the door for everyone and greeted them with a great big Good Morning! I love how much he loves people and love his sweet little servant's heart! I pray that it only continues to grow.

After church we ran home to change clothes, grabbed some lunch and headed back to town for something pretty exciting. But, you'll have to come back tomorrow to see what that is...

How was your weekend?
