Back in January I shared my one little word for the year {Hope} and then a few weeks ago I shared a really heavy post on loss and heartache. Today I wanted to share some scripture that I am clinging to. Scripture that gives me hope and faith in God's plan and His perfect timing.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
Romans 5:2-5 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Romans 12:12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Psalm 27:14 Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Isaiah 40:31 But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
Beautiful, friend. Jeremiah 29:11 is going to be incorporated into my next tattoo. It's such a precious verse that helped me through many times.

ReplyDeleteHebrews is my favorite book in the NT, it is always my touchstone when Im lost. Jeremiah 29:11 is my favorite verse! These are beautiful and even more so because they are filled with truth.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful reminders that God is there with us when we are walking in the darkest times. Please know I am praying for you!
ReplyDeleteLove this! You have the best attitude and such a positive outlook on your situation. So proud of you, friend!
ReplyDeleteI can always count on you to give me a bit more of Jesus. I am going to add these to my list to memorize.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking of you and praying for you. Such a difficult thing to go through, but maybe you choosing the word hope to focus on for the year was destined. I remember when I went through something similar I would just walk everyday contemplating and trying to get my head in a better place. I think getting out in nature helps a lot, which you guys already do anyway.
