{Roadtrippin' // Herd's Burgers // Texas Tuesday}

A couple of Saturday's ago we decided to make another day trip! I am really loving our Saturdays lately.  This time we drove to Jacksboro, TX to eat at our favorite hole-in-the-wall burger joint, Herd's Burgers. We found this place one October while camping at Mitchell Resort and now we eat there every time we camp in the area!  It's by far one of our favorite burgers.

Herd's Burgers is not only rich in flavor, it also has a very rich family history! The restaurant was established in 1916 and has been owned and operated by the family ever since. The burgers are still made on the same grill to this day. Around 1980 the location moved but that is the only thing that has changed. Herd's Burgers serves out of a house on the north side of town. The place is small - old school desks line one wall, then there's an order counter, a drink cooler, and the kitchen on the other side of the wall. The menu is pretty simple and makes ordering a breeze! Outside of Herd's Burgers, there are a few picnic tables for dining.

Nathan got a triple while Mason and I opted for a single. It was every bit worth the hour-and-a-half drive! Mason, our burger connoisseur, dubbed it his favorite burger ever!

Herd's Burgers is located at 401 N Main St, Jacksboro, TX 76458 and hours of operation are 10:30am - 9PM M-F, 10:30am - 4pm Saturday, closed on Sunday.
