{Salt-Dough Ornaments}

Another one checked off the ol' bucketlist....

We may have made a HUGE mess, but we made memories. And that's what matters to me. I let Mason help me with the whole process. He loved the rolling pin and making a mess, of course. "oops mama, that was an accident" as he's throwing flour in the air! ha.

This is how we made our ornaments -

Preheat oven to 200°

Mix 2 cups of flour with 2 cups of salt - gradually add in warm water until it's good and dough-like.

Sprinkle out some flour on your workspace and grab a cute little kid to help roll out your dough. :))

Use cookie cutters to cut out your shapes. Use a straw to cut out your hole for hanging.

Bake at 200° for 3 hours to let them completely dry out.

Once dry, grab that cute little kid again and get to painting!! Slap some twine on your ornament and it's ready to hang! Or you can use them as personalized gift tags too.

Easy Peasy!

Mason loved making the ornaments and then hanging them on the tree afterwards. He even picked out one for his Mimi and one for his Nana.

Do you make ornaments? If so, what kind? I'd love to learn some new ornaments to make. It's such a fun craft!

  6. This tradition will NEVER get old in my home. I hope my babies are still doing it when they are teenagers!
