Mason decided to go camping a day early with Nate's parents so it was just Nathan and I. We got up early, gassed up and grabbed some drinks and ice and went to the meeting/decorating area for our group! We met our good friends Life on Back Forty there. This was their first parade and we were so excited for them. We decorated our Jeeps for about an hour and then it was time to move to our next spot in order to jump in line in the parade. We sat there for another 45 minutes or so before we started rolling!
I'm always amazed at how many people come out and stand in the heat to watch the parade! Especially since our town has a no candy throwing policy while in the parade! And it's always exciting to hear all the comments about the Jeeps! They seem to be a favorite because we are constantly winning the first place ribbon. This year was no exception! I think we had somewhere around 42 Jeeps in this parade. Such a great turnout for Ellis County Jeeps!
The parade ended at our town's park for "Picnic in the Park" where everyone gathered for food, activities and games. We took some pictures before we took down all the decorations.
And for the video:
Were you in or did you attend a 4th of July parade?
