{This Past Weekend // Wedding, Baby Shower, State Fair}

What a beautiful weekend we had! This one surely filled up my love tank and brought so much joy to my heart. It was filled with family, friends and fall activities...the perfect trifecta! I didn't take many pictures, but it's okay because those memories will live in my heart for a long time. Here's how this past weekend went...

This past Friday we went to a beautiful wedding at the Old Bison Ranch in Forreston, TX. We have never been to this venue, but we left wishing that we owned that property. It was gorgeous! The wedding was for a long time family friend that we have watched grow up over the years! It's hard to believe she is all grown up and old enough to be married. They make such a beautiful couple though and there's no doubt in my mind this was so perfectly ordained by God. Anyhow, my side of the family was there, Nate's family was there and so was our church family! It was amazing having everyone together in one place at the same time. They asked that everyone unplug and just enjoy the wedding...and I did just that. I didn't take a single picture, except for the one we took in the photobooth...

It was such a beautiful night! Mason played his little heart out with all of the kids from church in the courtyard during the reception so it was almost like a date night for Nathan and I. I love having Nathan as my forever wedding date!

We woke up fairly early to run some errands and to go look at a few Jeeps. Then I had a baby shower for a sweet friend at our church. The shower was beautiful and they were gifted so many wonderful things. It was nice to spend time with all of my favorite girls from church! After the baby shower Nathan, Mason and I went to Fort Worth to visit with our friends. They had been in California for a few weeks and we missed them so. We had dinner at a place called Martha's and oh my word it was amazing!! We can't wait to go back. Then we all went to Cabela's to mosey around and shop. We had such a great time with them. I just wish I would have taken some photos of our evening!

We spent the day at the Texas State Fair. For the past several years we have been going on Sunday mornings and find that it's way less crowded at that time. We get there when they open the gates at 10:00 and usually leave around 2:00 - just as it is getting busy. I will have a full post with more pictures on this later since it's on our 2017 Fall Bucketlist. But, we had an amazing time. Mason loves rides and pretty much has no fear. I'm just thankful we are still able to corral him to the smaller kid rides. I know it won't be long before he discovers that the fair does indeed have adult rides! I'm not ready for that just yet. Anyhow, Mason rode rides to his little heart's content, had a huge cone of cotton candy, played games and won a pretty good sized prize and got to sit in some 2018 Jeeps. I'd say it was a pretty successful day!

What did you do this past weekend?

  1. Sounds like a lovely weekend! I have to admit I love taking photos too much to not take any at a wedding!

  2. I love that they asked people to unplug and enjoy the wedding. In a day and time of over sharing every single thing, we so often forget to live in the moment. I hope you are having a great Monday sweet friend.
