{Weekend Wrap-up // Fishing, Friends and Ozzy's}

Because I can't get my stuff together for a weekend wrap-up on Monday, you get one today. There are just not enough hours on Sunday to sit down at my computer. And Lord knows I am not waking up early on a Monday to type up a post! ha. Just being honest. Anyhow, we had another great weekend and I was sad to see it go.

Friday night we went to a Back to School Bash at Mason's dojo and then had dinner with our new friends that own our favorite snowcone shop, Ozzy's! Mason wasn't really feeling the party so we left 45 minutes early. He was so exhausted from the first week of school and he also had some allergies that made him sneeze like crazy. Donny and Amber close the snowcone stand at 8 pm so we had a little time to kill before meeting them for dinner. And of course we filled that time with a trip to Academy for fishing stuff! Of course! Then we all had dinner at a Mexican food place in town! It was such a nice evening and the company was amazing. We are feeling so thankful for these new friendships! I feel like we could have sat there and talked forever, but the mosquitoes were coming out in full force and Mason was getting sleepy! The only pictures I got that evening were of the sunset!

Saturday Nate got up early and took the kayak down to the pond for some fishing. It was a slow moving morning for Mason and I.  Mason came into my room at 7:30 am and was a wiggle worm. Thankfully he just needed to potty. He came back to bed and slept until 11:15. I was awake from 7:30 - 10:15 and then dozed off for another hour! It was glorious! I knew Mason needed the rest and was going to let him get just that!

Once Nate got back around 11:30 we decided to head to town to grab some lunch. Then we met Amber & Donny at the the snowcone stand before they opened so that I could snap some pictures of them for their Facebook page. I was worried since it was 1:30 in the afternoon and in full sunlight, but I think the pictures came out pretty good.

Amber had the cutest shirts made and we just had to get some photos of them wearing them in front of the stand! You guys, let me tell you a bit about Ozzy's. When you go there you get so much more than just a snowcone. You get two friendly faces and two people that are so welcoming. They will ask you about your day and they truly want to know. Amber and Donny are so personable and are just those kind of people you feel like you've known your whole life. Best customer service ever and the kindest people. If you're ever in Waxahachie, TX head on over to Ozzy's to grab a snowcone and make some new friends!!

The stand wasn't officially open yet and there were no customers waiting so Mason got to make his own cone again! He feels so big and special when they let him do this.

The stand started getting busy so we mosied on to free up some space for customers! We went to Waxahachie lake for a bit so that Nate could fish the lily pads. It was sweltering out so Mason and I spent most of the time in the air-conditioned truck. I did get out to take a few pics for Nathan, though!

And then I got a glimpse of my future...and I don't think I liked it one bit. I pray the next 10 years go by really, really slow...

Sunday was church!! And it was amazing. I was surprised that I even had any eye makeup left on after service because I cried through so many parts of it. We had a baptism {a young boy baptized by his father}, an awesome message brought by our Pastor and then a couple at church renewed their wedding vows for their 25th anniversary! And then our Worship team sang "Mercy" while the congregation had time to respond, or worship. That song just makes me weep.

Here I am a sinner
Broken and in need of You
Take my life and wash my fears away
For You are the 'Great I am'

Rest assured, I feel Your hand
Holding me until the darkness clears
A Father to the fatherless
Redeemer of my soul
My Life is Yours forever
I want the world to know

Your mercy saved me
Mercy made me whole
Your mercy found me
Called me as Your own
May I never take for granted the sacrifice that Jesus made for me. Because of Him I am able to be a part of this amazing church. Because of Him I get to be a mother to Mason and a wife to Nathan.

After church Nathan and had to help his brother {who is in the process of moving} with a few things while Mason and I went to my cousin's birthday party. It was great to see family! On the way home we ran by the grocery store and then back home. Then it was time to get ready for another school/work week.

And that wraps up our weekend! How was yours?
