{Five on Friday // 1 Second, Instagram, Big Rocks Park}

Happy finally Friday! I say that with mixed feelings. I do not want to wish away summer one bit, but covering for 2 co-workers is for the birds! Bring on the weekend!!!

{T W O} // 1 Second Everyday App

Do any of you use this app? I know my friend Meghan does! I started it this month and pray that I can keep up with it. I know the end result will be so sweet. It's challenging me {and reminding me} to take video every day {even if it's mostly been karate, lately}. I am usually terrible at capturing video. My goal is to capture video for a year. With the app you can string together any combination of video - a specific event, a few days, a week, a month, etc.

{T H R E E} // Instagram Stories vs Snapchat

While we're on the subject of apps - are you team Instagram Stories or team Snapchat? I haven't even had the time or energy to care this week. On IG stories can you send to only 1 specific person like you can on Snapchat? Or is it there for all to see? The only thing I like about it so far is being able to see stories from people that I don't follow on Snapchat. I guess I am nosey!

{F O U R} //  Big Rocks Park on the Paluxy River

Yesterday in my confessions post I mentioned we were going on a fun adventure on Saturday after the back to school fair! We are taking Mason to Big Rocks Park in Glen Rose and maybe to Dinosaur Valley State Park! We are ready to explore and adventure!! I've posted about this place before, here.

{F I V E} // My Angler

My sweet man has a strong obsession with fishing! I've enjoyed spending nights at the pond, creek, lake, etc watching those amazing Texas sunsets and snapping pictures. This is one of my favorites so far.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

  1. I was surprised Instagram is competing with Snapchat. I follow way more people on Instagram, so now I'm overwhelmed with people's stories. I don't know if I want to watch them or not! Hope you have a great weekend and fun day tomorrow!

  2. I still haven't figured out IG chat, although I tried for 2.3 seconds and gave up. I'm digging that one second video for a year.....might have to start that one come January 1...

  3. I have so many videos of Lily but hardly any of Ben. So glad you are trying to find the time to keep up.
I'm kind of obsessed with Insta Stories. Ha super nosey, I know!
Loving your fishing pictures. Like magazine worthy for sure!

  4. Haven't tried the Instagram thing but I don't see the point in having both it and Snapchat. I may be wrong though, ha! Hope y'all have fun this weekend!

  5. I don't use that 1 second app but I should!!! Becky did one last year and I LOVED it. What a great way to remember the year. Only problem is, I am TERRIBLE at remembering to do it! I barely remember to take a picture a day sometimes so a video might be hard. Or maybe easier? Because it literally could be anything. Hmm. I'll have to look into it!
Ha, funny you posted about IG stories vs snapchat today too! I'm team snapchat. I'm kind of private with my snapchat name so I only have real friends, family, and blog friends on there and I feel safe sharing whatever on there. I'm not so sure I like the idea of the whole Instagram world seeing my pictures...
That picture of Nate fishing is GORGEOUS! What a beautiful sunset you captured!

  8. I am Team Snapchat. I follow random people on IG because of blogging and Snapchat is more personal to me. People I know and trust.

  9. I think the IG story is for all to see like the snap story is... I kind of like my quiet little snapchat... but I'm nosey, too, so it's fun seeing others' stories! Good luck with the second a day! Russ does it, but he doesn't use the app.

  10. I don't use snapchat, so I don't have to worry. Ha ha! I guess I need to update my apps so I can see what people are talking about on IG. :)

  11. I am on team neither, lol. If I had to pick an app I'd say IG just because I like the all inclusiveness. If I can eliminate one more log in and app I say wahoo. I hope you had the best time this weekend.

  12. I don't have that app, but think I need to download it asap!!
Confession time: I never really LOVED Snapchat. It kind of felt like another social media that sucked me in, and the next thing I'd know, I'd blown 20 minutes. I'm not loving IGs InstaStories, but I do like that if I want, I can check out the IG feed and see the stories all in one place.

  13. I need to be better about taking videos too! I downloaded that app months ago, but have still yet to use it. And that last picture... Just wow!
